child of 12 has contracted pityriasis rosea. Can anyone give advice on how to eradicate the spots.

This is a pretty common rash in young people. It is itchy and scaly but is not contagious and generally goes away in 4 - 6 weeks. The very best thing you can do is expose the skin to sunlight. That will help speed the healing process. No cream helps more than the sun and it's natural! Hope that helps!

I had it, and it can last anytime from weeks to months. My dermatologist prescribed me Locoid Lipocream, which helped a little, but basically, it's like a rash, and you have to wait it out. Aveeno works wonders for itching!
