If there was a very close bond between the pet and its owner then yes. I think the deceased would like to say goodbye to there beloved pet. But bringing all the owner's animals might be a little tacky. Make sure you find out if animals are allowed at the funeral home/ religous establishment, because most of the times they're not.

I would think that it could be a horrible distraction. What if the pet starts barking at the casket or trying to climb in? I don't know how a pet would react around its dead master, but the possibilities are many, and, most of them not good.
This is not going to give the pet "closure," so why even try? There are so many things that could go wrong.

There is no purpose in doing so. The funeral service has no feature that is friendly to a dog. It would be kinder to leave the dog home.
Since dogs recognize people by smell - it could be traumatic to the dog, as well.

Ask the funeral parlor and/or the priest who will conduct the funeral services if it is allowed.

I agree with Mand. Ask the guys who run the place. If nothing else, maybe for the internment since that's outside.

I don't see why it wouldn't be okay however I don't see why you'd want to do it. The pet isn't going to understand anything that is going on.
