Actually, many theologians do not believe Christ died on a Friday. That day was determined by the Pope, but hardly based on logic, or reasoning. It is more likely Christ died on Wednsday evening.

He died on a Friday by Sundown. That is when it was still technicly Friday in Biblical terms. Then He rose from the Dead on Sunday at When the sun rose.

He could have died at any hour on Friday and risen at any hour on Sunday and still would have been 3 days. The bible doesn't say 72 hours - it says 3 days. Don't take it so literally. Anyway - they didn't have precision clocks back then where they can't down to the second like we do now.

True it may not have been 72 hours, but He died on Friday, was still dead all day Saturday, and was dead at the start of Sunday (three days).

His sacrifice was for everyone, from the beginning of creation till the finale battle.

I'm afraid you're imposing on the Bible the modern-day meaning of "3 days," rather than the Biblical meaning of it.

In the time when Jesus lived on earth, "3 days" did not mean "72 hours," as it does today.

In those days, it simply meant three days on the calendar, or any part thereof.

So, if something commenced on Friday night and ended on Sunday morning, to the Israelites of 2,000 years ago this meant that it took "three days."

It depends on what time. A "day" consists of 24 hours. So if he died on Friday at 7pm, through Saturday 7pm would be 24 hours. He probably came back Sunday morning to lead everyone to church, say 7am. It would make it 36 hours, 36 hours = 1.5 days.

Why do people misinterpet the Bible? I never knew the middle of the week was Friday?
Why do people think Jesus died Friday, when the Bible says in Dan.9:27 "he died in the middle of the week" which is Wednesday.

***JESUS DIED WEDNESDAY APRIL 14, 31AD at 3pm.

A good foundation (1Tim.6:19) has solid ground evidence. The foundation should include 2Tim.3:16; Isaiah 28:9-10; 2Peter 1:19-21; 1Thess.5:20-21 & Ephes.5:9-10,13. To understand deeply--you must use these websites:

If you read Daniel 9:27; it says "he died in the middle of the week"; that would be Wednesday. This is followed by "3 days & 3 nights" = Matthew 12:40 which equals 1-24hr.day x 3days equals 72hrs. in grave. Next the Bible tells us it would be "after 3days and "not before = Matt.27:63-64 and Mark 8:31. It tells us in three days (John 2:19-21) and not after. The Bible also reminds us a day is 12hrs. not including the night(John 11:9-10). Remember also Gen.1:5 and Lev.23:32 tells us "evening to evening" is considered to be a day.

Now I know this is true because the MAJORITY(Matt.7:13) is always wrong. Also there's many clues that it wasn't a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection; look at 2Tim.2:18. But you will point out Mark 16:9 which says "Now when Jesus was risen[the perfect tense is correct here--he was already risen] early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene." Now the original Greek didn't have no punctuation. If the King James translators put a comma after the word "risen" and not after "week", this would make complete sense. The Centenary Translation renders it this way: "Now after his resurrection, early on the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene

Actually he died on thursday, that friday was the High day, which is concidered to be sacred, so if you count Thurday night, Friday night, and Saturday night, that equals three days according to the Lunar calendar.

This one's easy. My second grade boys Sunday School class could beat you on this one. How do you prove Jesus was dead for three days? Count them, silly: Friday, Saturday, Sunday...1, 2, 3 days DUH! And you sinned in your life, so Jesus died for your sins. Next!

okay well their time back then was different so once the sun rose up the qualified it as a day. okay i don't really understand what you are asking for the last thing. but every one has sinned and he died for every one's sin. for the future and he died for all the sin not just one specific sin. so i don't really know what you are asking but i hope that that helped. :op
