I am looking for the easiest terms - I am not really too computer savvy. THANKS!

i assume you have some basic form photo software program on your computer .find a area you may call ADJUSTMENTS , OR the SELECTIONS on your program called COLOR SATURATION, OR COLOR BALANCE. This will allow you to move OR ADJUST LESSSEN the levels of color out of YOUR image via graduation. Then find CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT, most likely you will need to ADD a bit of contrast. hope i helped.

Picasa 2 is a free download programme from google and it is the easiest photo programme ive ever used, they do have that effect on there and you can choose any colour mask, it does give a really good effect. hope it helps!

do you mean by hand on a b+w print? there are such things as "photo tinting oils" that you can paint onto a b+w photograph. i think they are made by a company called "marshall's". i'm not positive...

My camera (CANON PowerShot A420) has this option built in. So, go & buy one!
