I get so mad about this. I actually called Lays one time to complain. they said that the amount of chips in the bag is based on total weight, not the size of the bag. but i feel so cheated, because i think that their scales are off somehow!

In a way I do, but all potato chip brands are the same. If I started buying a certain brand that could always fill the bag to the top with chips than I would feel cheated by all the other brands. I like to buy Pringles, they fill the container to the top every time!!

The reason that it is not as full as you think is that it is filled with nitrogen so that the chips will stay fresh and crisp. That is why chips get stale after you open them, you let out the nitrogen.

chip bags are filled with nitrogen to help slow down spoilage and to help cushion the chips against breakage. they are actually doing you a favor since you buy based on weight.

Yes, actually that happened the other day with my Mini Chips Ahoy cookies. I was SO looking forward to them, and then you open them and half are missing! No one messes with my chocolate...

Yes, but it can be good if you decide to eat it all in one sitting. Imagine if it was full and you ate the whole thing. I think you would feel cheated because you ate too much and it's fattening.

nah, they've gotta leave some air and room in there so they don't get crushed! Hey the back says contents only weigh 7 oz. Weight it.
