Because the Internet gives an anonymity to these morons who would never espouse their true beliefs in person. They can rant their hatred and racist POVs without being known. I wonder if their employer was to stumble across their posts they would still be a vitriolic and ignorant, I bet not.

One more thing, the morons in here who make claims like "they are sponging off this country" haven't a clue as to what immigration brings into this country. In NC alone, they pay almost $200million in taxes, use $220million in health care and pump $9billion into the economy. Don't let idiots who ignore facts persuade your opinion.

BTW, the only reason immigration is an issue is because the right wing needs someone to focus hate. This is because of their deplorable governing style and to mask the fact that they have single handily destroyed our standing in the world, while taking a surplus and driving us further into debt. Ignore the facts and focus on a boogie man to hate. It is the republican way. Gays, liberals and now immigrants, while ignoring their own ineptitude.

There are racist people from all races and in all places. Why would the Answers board be any different? However, some people think others are racist just because they have a different viewpoint or because they state statistics that deal with a particular race. Statistics are just that -- statistics. They don't imply that everyone of a particular race conforms to a certain mold. They just mean that a MAJORITY of a particular race behaves in a certain manor. Something along the lines of "90% of blacks that voted in the last presidential election voted democrat". It happened. Saying so doen't mean that all blacks are democrats or that all Republicans hate blacks. It's just a statement of what occurred.

I am a Korean-American living in Los Angeles, California. I see Hispanic people everyday, illegal and legal. And although my parents were racist, I don't think I am as racist as they are. Despite what people say, we are all racist, racist simply means we have preconceived notions about a particular race, be it good or bad...

I see Illegal Immigrants working hard for their family, doing whatever job they can... And I also see American Citizens panhandling... so I can say that I have lost the pre-conceived notions that I have formed... and now I see illegal immigration in a whole new light... and I also feel that being a racist isn't the issue, it's whether we're humanists and love our fellow man

I have been called a racist, and many other names. You ask why.
Because I refuse to allow a race of people to overrun MY country without so much as a weak whimper. I am an American Native and this country is MY homeland, from sea to shining sea.
My people have battled for the right to exist for centuries, this is just one more battle to be fought and won.
Am I a racist because I demand that existing American laws be enforced for all? If so, then call me what you will ,for I know who and what I am. A proud American Native Racist.

I am sick to death of people just slinging the race card around.. Your a racist if you want your country protected. Your a racist because you don't believe the same as someone else. That is so ridiculous! Its getting old for real!!
Illegal has no race..... All most of us want is what is best for our country, and if people want to come here don't break the law doing it..

I am a minority and I am married to a minority. I have friends of all races.

Usually the accusers are the guilty ones....!!!

Many people on here are not racist. The loud ones just leave an impression in your mind and that naturally forces you to make a generalization.

Speaking up against illegal immigration is not racist. Most people refer to the Mexicans when speaking of illegal immigration because they represent a very large portion of it. I say that anyone who is here illegally and stealing the benefits that are for the citizens and those here legally is a criminal and should be deported. Speaking up for what is right and for the enforcing of the law does not make one a racist! If anyone is being racist it is those illegals who constantly bring up racism and try to defend their criminal acts by saying Americans are being racist. This our country. If anyone is here illegally then get the hell out.

DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS

Most are not, and those that are putting the race card out there are the criminals that do not like that the American people will not change their minds, and give them amnesty for the 3rd time.
It's is not racist to not want criminals crossing your border, but when these criminals run out of excuses, they throw out the race card because they know Americans don't like it. I live as I was taught "stick and stones will break my bones, but worthless words will never hurt me." The race card is so out dated, and when it is tossed out there, it should show Americans just how many third world thinkers there really are in this country, and their comments just need to be ignored.

how in the world can you say we are racists? we are a country of every nationality but when america says weve had enough of people just helping themselves to our system then you want to play the race card. what a feeble attempt to justify an action that is happening illegally in our country i said it before and i'll say it again..if us americans were crossing the border entering a country without that countries permission they would have theyre military on the border preventing us from doing so then how can someone expect us to turn our heads and look the other way while our own children and our own american citizens are having to do without

It is NOT racist to call these people "illegal aliens" In fact, "illegal aliens" is the only term used in federal laws and regulations to describe criminals (and they ARE criminals) who come into our country illegally. They are not illegal immigrants, not undocumented immigrants, not migrant workers, and not day laborers - they're ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Illegal aliens absolutely do not contribute more than they cost. Certainly the millions in prison and on welfare aren't contributing a dime to our economy, and the ones who are working often are paid in cash with no deductions for taxes at all. The ones who use fraudulent social security numbers and qualify to pay taxes and social security have so many deductions for dependents that they pay little if any taxes. We have seen them pay less than $100 in taxes and get back $4,000 refunds (thanks to earned income tax credits and multiple dependents). The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the average Mexican illegal alien costs U.S. taxpayers a whopping $55,000 each. Some bargain, eh?
