I'm not saying this because I'm an atheist... I'm saying it because I'm a musician...
It has been my experience that Christian rock bands are simply "bad" rock bands that would never get signed otherwise. Most of them write songs that are laughable attempts at copying actual successful bands and/or sounds. The Christian music fans, meanwhile, will listen to any music that caters to them, therefore, it's a whole lot easier to "make it" there, than in the standard rock scene. Basically, they get a pre-packaged audience, that won't be nearly as critical of them as your standard audience.
I would not be surprised if 75% of the Christian rock bands are not truly Christians. They're just doing what they need to do to make a buck, and nail some groupies. (And yes, they most definitely nail groupies) :)

they're over reacting. convinced there's a minority of rock songs that do have Satanic lyrics yet no longer all and that i imagine it really is unhappy that an finished style of music is only condemmed because of a few songs. anybody has a properly to self expression and music is a thanks to attempt this. why do people ought to p.c.. on different's music only because it would not confom to what they see as properly. it really is pathetic that they are determining on on proficient artists consisting of the Eagles and The Beatles- the Beatles are absolutely no longer Satanic! they're searching for excuses to weigh down conventional genres so anybody will be like them, rock music become and nevertheless is a technique of rebel, discover faults with the most nicely favourite artists and songs- backward playing- and also you've an excuse to fireplace up hate adverse to that music. it really is stupid and to be honest getting somewhat previous, they were complaining about rock many years in the past, can they no longer see that they don't look to be going to win?

I am a strong Christian myself but I sort of agree. Its not as much a propaganda tool as it is some churches trying to "modernize" our faith. Christians everywhere are regarded as believing in ancient things that have no relevance today and Christian music is just one way to change that image.
In truth, very little "Christian" music has anything remotely Christian in it at all. I only listen to one Christian band, Relient K, but overall there is very little different between Christian rock and just rock. Christians music doesn't have any swearing or sexual innuendo however.

I wouldn't say it's a propaganda tool. I wonder if these people know what these words mean when they say them, or if they just learned them in 9th grade English?

I think this is great. Why should christians have such boring music like the old times. Music belongs to God. We should be able to use this for his will.

I don't mind music that is made by Christians, but any music labeled "Christian________" makes me desperate to not hear it. I've usually found it to be yucky.
