George DuBouef is dependable Beaujolais. The top Bordeaux producers, going by the historical first-growth classification are:

Lafite Rothschild
Margaux
Latour
Haut Brion
Ausone
Cheval Blanc
Petrus

The Bordeaux "Super seconds," which are exceptionally well made wines year and year out but not in the "First Growth" classification, include Lynch Bages, Palmer, Leoville-Barton, Pichon-Longueville, and Cos-d'Estournel

Personally, I love George deBouff Boujolais. Not certain about Burgundy, but try looking up "Wine spectator" or just go to a beverage or gourmet store and talk to the staff about what you want in a wine (ie: fruity, sweet, oaky...)

Domaine Michel Gros, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue, Domane de l'Arlot...those are my favorite...expensive and sometimes hard to find, but worthwhile.
