A few months ago I started practicing witchcraft. It has always interested me but when I was younger my parents wouldn't let me have anything to do with it. I have successfuly done spells, but what else do you do? Christians read the bible and go to church, so what do pagans do? A lot of the books I see at stores are stupid and just for teenagers. I feel lost and don't know where to start. I am interested in the earth part of the religion and I also read tarot cards. Is witchcraft one religion or is there different types?Yes, I know in the bible it says your not suppose to do witchcraft. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not confusing the path with a need to do something. If I was interested in being a christian would I?

think you are confusing the path with a need to do something-shouldnt be needs-just learn and enjoy-spend a day with a cat and learn why they smile-spend a day watching a woodchuck go about life and learn his thoughts-just enjoy this earth and the life you have-blessed be-lots of love old hippie here-ps-holler anytime-
can be christian-guidance you choose isnt important-making a choice walking the path is-this is a path of constant learning so try to walk very gentle on this wonderful planet-think you are on a good path appear to be open and learning-keep the peace spread the light old hippie here

Witchcraft is a word that has been used to mean a lot of different things. There is no orthodox practice, or particular text. There are many stories about our Earth, from every different culture. You should use your interest in the subject to learn about the great history and diversity of human religious practices.
Much of the popular literature on the subject of paganism involves reinterpretations of Nordic or Celtic mythology. You should start first by learning who these people were, and what they believed, so that you can understand their spiritual practices.
Shamanistic practices survive around the world. In the United States and the Carribean, Santeria and Voodoo incorporate West African religious practices.
By the way, even Christianity absorbed pagan rituals wherever it went. This is why Christians celebrate "Christmas" on the Winter Solstice, (formerly known as Saturnalia among the Romans) and "Easter" on the Spring Equinox, (Rabbits and Eggs were fertility symbols among Norse and Germanic people.) So 'witchcraft' makes its way into every religion.

There are many things you can do. Rituals to celebrate the 8 Sabbats of the year, you can get guidance from a teaching witch and really learn. Witchcraft is NOT evil or devil worship, only people who are close minded and don't know the truth say those things. What witchcraft is, is a faith based on Nature and seeing there is a God, but also a Goddess. Feel free to contact me if you would like more help and i can also recommend a few books that might help. Pagans follow different means. From what I've seen boils down to a gnostic type belief god\goddess or what you make it's all you. In the spiritual aspect the spirits and such are there. Check out folks that are into Wicca or other witchcraft beliefs stop really take a look at them there beliefs and where they are in the world. I've observed they seem rather insane or inane and self absorbed, rather poor and always looking for love (esspecially as they age), pagan groups\ covens tend to breakdown due to rivilry or egos, and some very unstable mental cases are into that life style. Many different variations and no one text or group ( and I'm sure you will find many great great grandma or uncle's book so many of them are highly suspect ). It's a nature based earth religion that has no one way.You are playing with fire be aware.

There are wiccans in most major towns you could hook up with. They often have covens. Start with a pagan group. Search on pagan and your town. Go to the Unitarian Universalist Church nearby (they usually have pagans). There are so many rituals like casting circles, etc etc etc. Lots of varieties of wiccan and pagan practices, just like the denominations of christianity. Look for the author Starhawk. There are lots of pagans all around and you can find some people to practice this religion with if you look in your community.

Why don't you just do a google search for Wicca. There are tons of message boards. I bet Yahoo has a couple dozen message boards and /or chat rooms for witches. Surely you can hook up with some locals that way. Then you can all whip up a little Love potion number 9 & have all the dudes fall in love with you. I saw a really cool Calderon for sale on e-bay. (I was thinking on bidding on it for a plant container, but maybe people would get the wrong idea about me)

Well.. if you are confused and don't know what to do. I suggest.. since you already know what they do... become a Christian. Then you won't have any problem waking up in the morning and saying... "hmm, what funny little book can I read today" or "Is the earth a man or a woman.. and what do my cards say my life is going to be like tomorrow." You'll already know what to do and how to do it and won't have to go to Yahoo answers to ask... : )

Don't concern yourself with the opinions of others. Do what you want. I'm a Christian, but I can't see anything wrong with using witchcraft for good purposes. If God was against it, he wouldn't have given you these abilities.

You need to learn to Journey. There are different types. When you journey you will find your Gods and they will give you a starting point. I can teach you, but only if you're over 18.
