ok I respect your question , although I feel it is wrong of anyone to catergorize these soldiers as if every soldier is some psycho who will eventually be a public enemy just as if I would feel it were wrong for anyone to catergorize people of different races, religions, and so on but answer this for me....if these men were serving america and had psychological problems stemming from doing so than would'nt you say that america let them down by not getting them the professional help that they obviously needed? Way to take care of our own, would'nt you say? Secondly, to those of you who are slamming our soldiers........"did you fight for your country today or just sit on your azz and let someone else do it for you? " Our soldiers must be real happy to see all of the thanks they are recieving back home when they read trash like this.

If you look closely you'll notice that it's only one person asking the same question with different wording each time. That person isn't looking for an answer -- they're just looking to push their socio/political viewpoint.

If we lived in a democracy, we would have had the chance to vote on this war and the usage of the United States military for the purpose they are being used for now. Since we don't and we weren't, I don't think it is anyone in this countries obligation to support Bush's war whatsoever. If you mistake that criticism for somehow dishonoring the troops then I would say that it is quite an insult to them that you think just because you can't make the distinction, that they also can't, well, they can...
This is why so many troops leave voting Republican and return signing up to run as Democrats.
I think you should show some more respect to the people who are treating these troops returning for PTSD, there are many duties in this war not all of them have to be killing civilians in Iraq remember.

Get this correct too... we are not fighting to protect our country. That is a lie. We are fighting because someone upstairs in the Government decided to rob a country in the middle east of the control of thier resources, we interveined to do just that... nothing more... this isn't the Civil war. We are not even fighting an army over there, we are fighting civilians... call it what you will "insurgency" but that is a deceptive term.

I don't blame people in the least for criticising this war, it is wrong and history will show just how wrong it is...

Nothing wrong with looking at people like Timothy McVeigh for what he is, a homegrown US trained terrorist who used what he learned in the military against the civilian population of the US.

So what? Connect the dots to how that relates to all troops in Iraq or elsewhere... it doesn't.

It is very un-democratic of you to willingly endorse the fascist idea of repressing what people want to think about, talk about or discuss here.

It is a true dis-service to those who have fought for our freedoms to adopt the central doctrine of thier enemy.

It's actually only one idiot he just keeps reposting it differently, and yes this country has let them down. Let me tell you some things that bother me as a Vet who has served in foreign conflict. The VA has totally dropped the ball when it comes to taking care of us. They do nothing but preserve themselves. I recently received a letter from the VA informing me that personal informaiton was taken home on a disk by an employee. This employees home was broken into and the informaiton was stolen. The VA's response to this is for me to watch my credit reports, and bank accounts.
While many people my age were going to college I was serving this great country. These people have become teachers, bankers, and government employees. Every year for Veteran's day they have a paid holiday off while I go to work. Just like when they were in college.
Most people that never served have no problem stereo typing any of us that have served. Some of the generalizations that I have seen on this site, All military men are gay, Marines are stupid, Airfoce is sissies. We all love to kill people, are brainwashed, and have no thought of our own.
I have to use the internet to find a t-shirt that has my service on it. Yet if take my kids shopping in almost any store, I see shirts, for every college, and every other country in the world.
Now some things that make me proud,
I have said many times, I gave these hate mongers the freedom to say what they are saying, in reality they thanking me.
For every one message like the one you are reffering to that is posted there are at least five like yours honoring us.
If I go into any of these posts there is very few people agreeing with them, however most of the reponses they receive from all of you are greatful to us, and what we have done.
I hope our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen get chance to read the responses and not jsut the question, because they will know the support they are receivng and graditude you all have shown.

For those of you that continue to say that the men and women over in Iraq aren't fighting for there country and sadly mistaken! I've said this before and I'll say it again, if you allow someone like
Sadam Hussaine to run a country out of fear and terror they way the bastard ran Iraq, it will end up affecting other peaceful countries! Sadam is like a bully on the playground...If he thinks he can continue to get by with hurting people and nobody will step in to stop him, he will continue to do it! I don't care if we didn't find any weapons of mass destruction. I don't care if Sadam had no involvement with 9/11, we still did the right thing going in there and taking him down! Because of America and every other country that stepped up and helped, the people of Iraq are going to have a better life! For the first time, young girls can go to school, people have phone service, and people that have been tortured by him are finally getting the treatment they so deserve. The media shows us what they want us to see, if you want to know what is really going on in Iraq, ask someone who has been there. I'm a military wife, and though my husband hasn't served in Iraq, we know people that have, and we have been told the stories. So yes, those men and women over there are fighting for the United States. Yes, they had the choice to sign up and go into the Armed Forces, nobody made them. But see, they are much more courageous then the rest of us. Because they knew when they signed those papers, the day may come that they'll have to go to war and even die. It sucks that any innocent person has to die, rather they are a US Military member, or a civilian, but that is just the way it is. President Bush isn't the enemy. He's not the one that killed thousands of innocent people just because he felt like it! So, instead of putting down our Military, why don't those of you who continue to run your mouth's show a little support to them. Believe me, because of them, and those that came before them, you can say such ignorant stuff!
Kimberly....Great Answer! A lot of adults could learn something from you!

Soldiers HAVE to go trough sensitivity training after hand to hand combat. They are analyzed by professionals and if they need sensitivity training- they go. They ARE fighting for our freedom. Some people join for college money- but MOST join because they love this country and they fight for everything we have. If it wasn't for the soldiers- we might not be able to be on our computers right now posting this information. And for your President bashing- you DEFINITELY wouldn't be able to post that kind of stuff if you lived in a different country- say IRAQ-- That's treason my friend!

I definitely think America has let down the vets in more ways than one.

I agree, don't bite the hand that feeds you. Our soldiers sign up to protect and serve and the least thing we can do it support them.

Just one problem with your question. The soldiers are not fighting for our country or our freedom. They are not fighting for us they are fighting for the personal enrichment of our illustrious leaders. Please remember there was no link of Iraq and terrorism by our own governments admission.
