back to my natural colour which is a really lovely golden brown. I have no clue about hair stripping, will it damage my hair? How long will it take to get back to my natural colour and condition (shiny+healthy)? Am I better just getting it dyed a light brown colour and letting it grow back naturally? Anyone know a decent website that explains the process?

it will take a while for the dye to go completely out of your hair. Your best bet is to have it done professionally so that you are insured a good job. good luck.

Your best bet is to dye your hair brown until your hair is long enough to cut the bleached hair off. Bleaching your hair for 10 years has no doubt done a lot of damage. You should speak to a hair stylist who specialises in colouring to find a product that will work effectively.

You can't strip the colour off bleached hair because the blonde is not a layer of colour on the surface of each strand of hair, the bleach permanently lightened your hair right to the core.

Please do not strip your hair, I am a licensed cosmetologist in Georgia and I see this a lot, first of all you need to find out how light your hair is now, then you find out what your natural color is, I would recommend to go almost your hair color in semi perm color and just pull your hair threw a cap like your giving your self hi-lites, (or low lites) that way you will be adding a little color at a time, but you may have problems with the color staying on your hair. When you dye your hair blonde it takes the color out of your hair so it may be hard for it to stay on or it may grab the color very quickly so be very careful. Go to Loreal, Clairol, they have websites to help you.

There is no reason for you to strip your hair. Stripping is the removal of unwanted pigment. Since your hair is lightened, the pigment has already been removed in the lightening process. You are wanting to go darker which is in the opposite direction from stripping. See a stylist. You can have your hair colored back to your natural color. The stlist can determine what steps need to be taken to get you there.

Actually in order to tone your hair close to your natural color you first need to "fill-in" the already stripped hair with a filler. You should go to a salon to get this done. After getting your hair filled in it can then accept the color you've chosen to tone your hair. If you don't do this, then after several weeks the color fades back to the blonde, leaving you with the same problem you started with... dark roots and blonde ends.

Go with dieing it as close to the natural color as possible and let the blondness grow out. Natural hair is infinitely more attractive!

if i were you i would just dye your hair a color very similar to your natural color or go to a salon and see if they can match it for you. stripping does a lot of damage and chances are you will still have to dye it to get it the same color that it was before. just dye it as close as you can to your natural color and let your hair grow back.

if you get it stripped, it will strip the brown out also. it will leave your hair a lemon yellow color. then you need to dye it the color your want as the stripped hair grows out. long process.

if you bleached your hair blond then you CAN'T strip it out. bleaching actually changes the color of the hair, while dying just covers it up. you're better off dying it back or cutting it off. cutting it off will leave you with the healthiest hair in the end.
