I would go with the Boeing aircraft. Even though they say the cabin of the Airbus is slightly larger than Boeing's, I believe Boeing's 737 has a lower operating cost than the Airbus 320. Plus the 737 has different models that you can choose from such as the 737-600, 700, 800 and 900 depending on how big of an aircraft you need. Southwest Airlines and Ryan Air, are both very successful low fare carriers and both use the Boeing 737 aircraft. There is another low cost carrier in Brazil called Go or Gol that also flies the 737 aircraft.

737 in a heartbeat. For one thing the Airbus A320 is fly-by-wire, which I simply don't trust. There's too many things that can go wrong when the pilot doesn't actually control the plane. Secondly, 70% of each Airbus plane is paid for by government subsidy, mostly French. This means that Boeing (who contributes to my economy especially being from the Seattle area) is already on unequal footing economically speaking, and only manages to compete by providing far superior planes.
Either one is fairly equally suited to either hub or point-to-point. If I had my own airline, I would certainly use point to point to make a lap around the country, rather than a hub in the middle. Short hops, and long jumps for express service.

Thats a tough question, I would would stick with the Boeing. To say that the the Airbus is "not built by Americans" is childish, the American manufacturers are great builders. When will shoppers get over the American / Foreign thing...
The boeing is a great plane, if you are flying in domestically it is easier to conduct business, perform maintanence and resolve any minor issues directly with Boeing. The 737 has been in service a long time and continues to be a work horse for the industry. The cost of leasing a 737 would be considerably lower as well.

the Airbus has had a lot pf pre operational hype/marketing money thrown at it. But when it comes dopwn to it the 737 out guns it as far as maintenacne issues and realiability. Also Id never fly in a fly by wire system that big. Too many things that can go wrong. kind of like the hype before the Titanic set off on its maiden voyage. Anyway unfortunately both aircraft are going to soon be dinosaurs. The way to go except for trans atlantic flights will be with the Dream liner. Larger aircraft on domestic flights will be a thing of the past. Airbus just has gotten it totaly wrong. Youll see orders drop with the 1st accident and then Airbus will finaly go bankrupt once and for all. The design team should have spent there R&D money on a smaller acft to challenge the Dreamlinner. Again...They just have it all wrong. Beutiful instrument panels though. Any pilot would fall in love with that panel. But they would hate to fly it cause of the certainty of fly by wire problems its going to be having not even in its 1st few years of operation.

the boeing 737 is a much better aircraft, the 737 can be compared
to the old dc-3 which is an old reliable work horse. The airbus has
alot of electrical problems with its fly by wire method of control.
The 737 is a more fuel efficient airplane. this problem showing up
in new a380

I would fly the Boeing 737 because of its long history of flying and it's superb record in reliability. The Airbus 320 is a good plane but has had years of problems with it's "Fly-By-Wire" systems. This is also the reason that they have pulled production on the new Airbus A380.

Definitely the NG, having flown A319/A320's for the past 3 years, I find it's a piece of junk. All is good if everything works but when things go wrong on the airbus they really go wrong big time. Any deduction on logic is useless, because it's designed by the french, they do all sorts of silly things like put wires on the outside of the plane and put adhesive stickers on the inside of fuel tanks (The stickers come off and cause the pump to fail ). If i ever get off this piece of junk, the only thing i'd miss is the tray table in front of me.

If it aint Boeing, I aint going!
I'll take Boeing any day of the week! They're quieter, have longer range, can carry more cargo, ie. more revenue, and have a higher resale value in comparison to Airbus aircraft.

airbus for sure. they were built around technology not retro-fitted like the 737. the 737 is a good reliable aircraft but just about out of date. airbus has a higher capacity for passengers and has more modern efficient engines.
