Most likely due to insurance companies lobbying our politicians to ensure that a nationalized health care system doesn't come into being.

Some people feel that by having nationalized health care the "quality" of doctors and surgeons decreases. There would be no "fight" to be the best, because you would get paid the same no matter who your patient.

Because they're idiots! Move to Canada. Pay your taxes and get health care. Plus becoming a doctor makes for less wait time for patients. Although I'm not one.

That's why they pay $ 6.50 a gallon for gasoline in the UK. Also in Canada most people have to wait up to two months to see a doctor. So much for a national health care program...

Too much money in it. Doctors and pharmaceutica companies would loose alot of money if the government controlled all aspects of our health care. So they get Republicans to make sure it doesn't happen.

because in the u.s. we understand that if you want the quality of a thing to be good that you have to pay for it

if you refuse to pay what the market will bear, then you end up with substandard health care

the u.s. is the place that makes all the medical breakthroughs, look at the leaders of other countries, most of them come here when the need medical care

Why would they govornment need another office to look after. Let the population control it, the gov will just make the laws and enforce it.
