I am wondering why do people like to abuse animals, it seems very gross and sick.?

Why? It seems so stupid. I want to know what are in abusive peoples minds.

People who abuse, torture, or kill their animals, usually have deep rooted problems stemming back from their childhood. That they never was able to express to someone in the forms of psychology or psychiatry. As they grew up these individuals became more angry and built up a great deal of hate, not just for animals, but hatred toward their family members and themselves.

Had they had the opportunity to seek professional help, 9 chances out of 10 they wouldn't abuse or kill their animals. Or hate themselves either.

I grew up with some very abusive people that hated their animals. It is so sad to witness their abusive ways. Back then there was no such of a thing called the Humane Society. I had to grow up just watching what they did with their cats, kittens and dogs. It was sickening!!!

Animals are precious creatures that God made for us to enjoy!! I just wish there were more people that enjoyed them than those who abuse them.

Because they're sick human beings. I think the question is why do people abuse any living creature. My guess is it probably stems from growing up in an abusive home, but that doesn't make it right by any means. I'm a huge animal lover and wouldn't harm a fly (well, maybe a fly, but I'd just swat is quickly and be done with it).

There are many reasons why people abuse animals. It's the same as asking "Why do people abuse children?" Some of the reasons are:

Power
Anger
Control
Ignorance
Mental Instability
Revenge

There are also many different defintions of animal abuse as created by the courts, vets, and various organizations and people. Unfortunately, the only definition to stand up is that of the court.

Animal Abuse is one of the first signs a person is criminally insane. No normal person can understand why people do things to innocent animals. I do know I would love to do to these people what they do to the animals.

They want the control. Animals, when you think about it, are pretty helpless, and they depend on us for a lot. People don't have control over their own lives, so going home and hurting something makes them feel better.

It depends on what you mean by abuse. I feel eating meat is fine because its the natural order. If you mean beating dogs, those people are just violent and frustrated people with mental disorders. if they had wives they would be wife beaters. Since no one would marry them and they have a dog, they're dog beaters.

i am not quite sure whats going in on their minds.. its not even just beating animals.its all the neglet.. and the disposing of them like they are just trash..
as far as i can figure they don't realize what their doing is wrong.. they don't feel animals have feelings or they just don't care...

i agree that they need to do more.. bigger fines.. possible jail time..

the people who dont get to have sex or the people who are bored of having sex with human are involved with these kind of acts. since the animal can not talk they take this chance.
