i had a 68 coronet once with points, and you need to hook up the hose from the vacume advance to a source on the carb so it will suck only when you give it gas because if you hook it up where it pulls all the time when the car is idling then it is advanced as far as it will go and when you need more power then you wont have it cause it cant advance any farther and when you do as i say then put a timing light on it and set the timing.if you do as i say you will have the power you want.

First off, it's important to know rather it's a single or dual vaccum advance port distributor. For simplicity's sake I'm going to assume it only has one inlet for vaccum. Check different ports on the carb while it's running. One of the ports should have little to no vaccum. now crack the throttle a decent ways open, you should feel an increase in vaccum. this is the port you want to run ( It is your timed vaccum port ) using any other port would defeat the purpose because they actually lose vaccum upon snapping the throttle. and the job of the vaccum advance is to rapidly advance the timing when you hammer it, To hook it up to a source that has full vaccum at idle would simply max out your vac adv. at idle then be usless upon stabbing the skinny pedal. good luck, go trash some ricers

depends on your carb.
You will have to hook it to a place that sucks in
Usually on the Front passenger side of the carb.
If it's a 2 bbl
it may hook on the rear of carb in the center at the bottom

what kind of carb? secondly, if the distributor is blowing...hook it up to the sucking port on the carb. Or vise versa. In=out. BTW, nice car, you lucky dog :) If that didn't help, I'll look at my set-up.

Any vacuum port that has vacuum will do. Just make sure you use a good vaccuum port,(one that has vacuum), and you should be fine.
