If you have MRSA, you are also contagious to him. Make it clear to him, that he could also become ill from unhealthy practices such as not washing hands, etc. Otherwise, you will continue to pass germs back and forth between you.

I had to deal with a nasty roommate for my first year in college and now she has gone home for the summer and im very glad. now i know that asking to take the trash out or asking can you clean up behind your self is not enough you will have to be blunt and address the issue like an adult

Well it sounds like you have already tried logically to tell him to stop depending on your situation Id do whats best for you health wise..maybe look for another place ? kick him out? have me come over and beat him up ..um lets see other suggestions do the unloading of the dishwasher your job. Assign jobs like ok you cook and clean the kitchen and he does the living room or something..

I have been having the same problem with a room mate for almost a year. In the end it's going to end up that we move out and get different room mates. Of course you need to respect his right to live as he pleases, but if it's detrimental to your health, it's not fair... the only way to fix it is probably just to stop living together.

Take a picture of yourself and his Girlfriend, use creativity when black-mailing him......
No, seriously. Most colleges will allow your to request another roommate. If you do have a medical problem, I don't see how they could refuse. At the very least, they will punish your roommate for being so sloppy.

You need to explain to him what the issue is and hopefully he'll be more mindful of doing things like that (which, by the way, is nasty as I don't know what). If it continues, then do as I always have and get rid of the problem at its source: The roommate.

Tell him more about your condition and tell him that it is very important that you do not come in contact with to much bacteria. Dont push it on him just talk about it and if you cant come to an agreement you may need to find a more respecting and understanding room mate.

My housemate goes to the bathroom but does not wash his hands afterwards. We have paperthin walls so I can hear everything... It is disgusting as then he goes and prepares dinner for his wife and himself (no longer for me, as I have refused so many times).
I would move out if I were you, if it financially possible.

Follow behind him with a disinfectant spray, spray everything he touches and maybe even him sometimes! He'll be so agitated that he'll start to wash his hands just to get you off his back!
