Okay, you obviously don't understand and part of my wonders if you ever will. You have done the same thing (picking and chosing parts of the Bible) to try and prove that Christianity/the Bible is not a realistic thing. I cannot explain it all, but in Exodus you are reading about something you have no clue about. God chose the Jews as His people. He proved to them time and again that He was the true God and that He would protect, deliver, and provide for them. However, they chose to not obey His words, His commandments, or trust in His perfect will. God blesses those who believe and will follow to any and all extents. The Jews weren't doing that. They were worshipping false gods. They were worshipping idols. His punishment was necessary to prove that He was still who He had always been. There were laws back then to guarantee these people their salvation. There were laws they followed to stay on God's good side, so to speak. When they broke those laws, they were punished. God made promises and He kept them.

For one, stop reading the Bible out of context, anyone can say just about anything if they take one verse here and one verse there. Satan quotes scripture very well, but he seems to forget that Exodus is in the Old Testament, and was the OLD law. With Jesus' birth, Crucifixion and Ressurrection, the NEW law came into effect, "A new commission I give unto you, love one another". If you got this far into this answer, there may be hope for you still. If you think I'm a religious zealot who thumps a Bible, well, you just don't know me...and you probably never will...

First of all, the first born children dying was a last resort. None of those children needed to die. If Pharoah would have let the Isrealites go, none of the 1st born Egyptians would have died. so the blame rests with Pharoah.
As far as the reference to Ex. 21:7 Those were guidelines for the proper treatment of slaves. God's people were to treat their "slaves" very well. And if they didn't the "owners" would be punished.
God allows suffering, but he does not cause it. Satan the Devil is a major cause of the suffering that we see in the world today.
Humans and the choices they make are also a huge cause of suffering with regard to children.
The choice that Adam and Eve made to disobey God is what put us in this imperfect condition in the first place.
Then we have 'time and unforeseen occurance,' being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Erm...please re-read that because it does not say it is okay to sell your daughter. It says, "And if a man sells his daugter to be a female slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do."
During that time period slavery (Though not at all as you think of it) was as common as cars are today. In this verse, and the surrounding ones, God is decrbing rules that protect slave from mistreatment. To keep women from being abused or otherwise injured by male slaves, God forbid them from going out among them.
If you carefully read through the Bible, you would realize that there is no such thing as an "innocent kid" at all. Mankind is a perverted race and God is a just God. He created man kind and can do as he pleases with us.
If you make a mud pie in your yard, leaves and all, is it unfair if you destroy one of them and keep another? We are less than dirt compared to God and he can kill any one of us if he wishes.
However true that is, in the Bible God killed people when they disobeyed him. He is a perfectly Holy God and sin is an abomination to him. If a person sins against their creator, God sees fit to punish them and has every right to.
On another note, almost 90% of the time, it is men killing the other people. God does not do it; man does. How can you live in a world where every day thousands of "innocent children" are being aborted and where men and women kill, steal, cheat, lie, rape and do a thousand other abominable things. Because of the way we act, we deserve to die.

We are all children of GOD.
HE can do what "ever" HE wants to do with us!
There is no "innocents"! You are either "right" with GOD, or you are a Sinner!!
That is all there is to it. No middle of the road stuff with GOD. No "straddling the fence".
Slavery was an accepted thing in that time. And your kids werent considered anything important, until they were adults. So, selling your children was acceptable back then.
Also, during the plauges, the LORD "hardened pharoahs heart" so that HE could make an example out of him. The LORD wanted to let the Jewish people "know" what the score was...
The Egyptians didnt believe in the LORD, just thier idols, so, they were sinners in GOD'S EYES...
I wish you well..

God does not kill innocent children. The Egyptians were told before hand what was coming and they refused to obey. God didn't kill innocents, He killed the unbelievers. Because of the unbelief the parents lost their children to death, but as anyone with any sense knows......God does not hold children accountable before the age of reason. That means that any child who died as a result of the sin of their parents are now enjoying Heaven. Ya'll act like death is the end of all, like it's something bad. Hell is bad, dying in sin is bad, but being in Heaven is the best thing that could ever happen. Plus, you need to stop reading things out of context and picking one verse to try to prove God is a bad guy! Life isn't a test and one verse is not going to knock Almighty God off His throne. He is always God, always on the throne, and you aren't proving anything with feeble and futile attacks on Him..

Christianity is not a religion that promotes love, peace, acceptance and ... life. Many think it is, but infact, this God is jealous, unforgiving and cruel.
Christians have all sorts of arguments to explain these inconsistencies. In reality, they just pick and choose what ever parts they want to believe.
Overall, the bible is a book where people are scared into believeing. It spells out Hell and death if you do not follow God.

Unfortunately, no matter what Christians say, it is a book written by people. Humans are flawed and put their own ideas into the book. They take out what they don't like and replace it with things that they feel will strengthen their ideas. Also perhaps the god of the old testament and new testament are not the same one.

The Lord gives life and he takes it away. I chose not to question, however everything is done to the glory of God. Maybe you should read the New Testament. I don't see God on the street shooting people. It is aetheits like yourself you promote violence. All communit countries are run by aetheits thus the mass killings.
