well if you fell into one the biggest risk is death from inhaling all that lovely methane that is produced in the tank..if that happens then you dont have to worry about this other stuff LOL...but if you fell in with a scba on (what firefighters wear) then you'd have to worry about a multitude of bacteria's such as C-diff,MRSA,VRE,hepatitis the list goes on and on......

Breathing the methane produced by the waste and die from poisoning. Also there is a high risk of infection from the germs. But people die soon if they cant get out, from the gases.

Well, for starters, if the tank is deeper than you are tall, you could drown or suffocate. That alone ought to help you keep your footing outside the tank.

If you had no open wounds and it didn't get on your face (mouth, eyes or nose), you may be ok if you washed thoroughly. I think I would get a round of antibiotics to be sure though. EW!
