and have never worked that shift in my life. I am a very "go to bed at night and wake up in the morning scheduled person, when I'm tired it makes my anxiety alot worse. Anyone have a suggestion on how to prep myself for it

i also work night shift. 12 hours-3 nites a week in trauma icu at a hospital.

best thing to do is keep yourself up the night PREVIOUS before working the nite shift. you can take benadryl the day of working the graveyard shift-this is what i take when i get home and sometimes can't sleep and have to be back that same nite. benadryl is non-habit forming and will help you sleep. take one tablet around 9am-you should be able to sleep most of the day and feel rested enough to work that nite..drink caffeine throughout the shift to help

i work overnight and all i can really say is try to get some sleep during the day. i'm not sure what your job is but i work at walmart so i have people walking around all the time.
