It's been a year since I last had a girlfriend so I decided to ask friends for advice as to what I should do. some tell me to fix up my personality and some tell me to fix up my dress sense, what do you think is more important, LOOKS or PERSONALITY???

Mainly your personality needs to be changed. I mean a girl could be dating a really hot guy and dump him because he's has a poor personality. Or be dating a normal guy and stay with him forever because of his personality. To me most of the time looks, I could care less about.

For a girlfriend personality is more important. How can you be with someone boring. The looks however help you at first sight. When the girl doesn't know you yet... Both of them are important of course personality is much more important.

Well personally it think that personality is more important although if you feel good about yourself you express it in the way that you dress. However if you have to fix stuff for someone to go out with you i guess they didn't like the real you anyway. Think about it and good luck.

Personality is the most important but looks are what attracts people to you in the first place.
So I would have to say you can work on both.

I thinks it's a little bit of both. Personally, (If I wasn't married) I would be interested in someone who looks neat, not someone who has their pants hanging half past their butt, with too big shirts. That look is so not cute, unless of course the girl is into that. Anyway, but if you look neat and dress cute (name brands are optional) and you are funny, love to play video games, and can watch a B flick and still enjoy it, then that's great. You have to have a little of column A and column B. Dont fret there is someone for everyone.

Our human nature is to first be attracted to the persons looks. Secondly after approaching the person who has caught our eye we then make up our minds if he/she is friendly & nice or if they are complete twats. Theres no point being drop dead gorgeous if you have the personality of a cactus. My advice to you is yes.. of course get on top of your appearance firstly.. but as long as you are a good guy... thats all that really matters.

it is personality of course. but, people dont see the personality when they first look at you.
BUT, i think the main issue here is that it is a really nasty thing to say to a friend that they need to sort out their personality OR their dress sense. I think you need to have a word love.

Definately personality. But what's wrong with being single? People are in such a hurry to be with someone, that they date many of the wrong people. Why not sit back, relax, and enjoy life. Wait until the right girl comes along for you.

As far as first impressions, both. I mean, you have to have some sort of style savvy for women to look at you in the first place, but you also have to have a good personality to back it up!!!
