There is a verse in Quran [67:5] that says that god have decorated the sky with LAMPS. It also says that god uses those lamps to attack devils (like missles)!
Did not the almighty, all-knowing, god know that what we see in the sky are actually stars not just "decorative lamps"?
Did not he also know that those "missles" are just meteors travelling in the sky according to Newton laws?

First I am using the Quran from its original language (Arabic) so there is no chance for misinterpretation.
Second, I am not talking about a typo where god used the word "lamp" instead of "sun". I am talking about people who (THOUGHT) that the stars in the sky were just lamps. By the time the quran was created, people could not know that what they think as "LAMPS" is actually huge stars.

The holy Quran is very precise and there are no reasons to deny what in the verse because simply the sky is really decorated and look nice with the stars otherwise it will be just black and horrible, and if Allah says He sent what you call missles against deviles you can't deny this because this is not detectable by us now, as the bacteria was not dectable for million of years till we discover the microscope. Now one of the miracles of the Quran is its mention of black holes which is just discovered.

In my language the word we have for light is interpreted as-- a light. So it could be used for the sun, the lamp or lightning bugs or whatever. Each of those has a name of course in my language. Turn on the dododo, or look at the dododos, or the dododod is really hot today. thats not the word but you see what i'm saying. So i'm sure that in the Quran you speak of, it's the same thing about interpretations into other languages. you are also wondering if it was a human that made the quran or allah, because if allah did, he would know the difference between the sun and a lamp. Then i ask, would he not know that humans would put sunlight into candle sticks one day, and then into lamps. Thus his interpretation? You could also wonder if it is the words of a human prophet that created the quran, there again, you'd understand the interpretation used. if your comparing the quran to bible scripture because jesus was a human, --------- to find if you believe the quran or not, i say dig a little deeper, the quran doesnt have to be wrong just because of a liilte interpretation. You may want to seek out the most knowledgeable Indian elders who live and speak the quran. Ask them your, questions, but dont argue with them. Just ask more elders. Dont stop asking good questions, because this is a good time to ask good questions.

There is no confusion in my view. There are many words used in the Quran for stars. In many places stars are called NAJM, or those that shine with their own power, where as the word for the planets is "Sayyara", the moving one.. it does not say it shines of its own power.
If you know a little more, you will see that there are no conflicts in what is being written. Do a search on google for the word MISBAH which is the word used in the Quran. Although it can be translated as a lamp in common usage, it is a loaded word. The root letters of the word are S B and H. THAT is the beauty of the Arabic language. For example the word SOBH which is related to the word SHINING is used for morning, when the Sun begins to shine.. so Misbah can be a Sun like entity, something that shines forth. Lamp is what the translator translated based on his understanding and the limitation of the English language.
Many a times the "missiles" are those meteors that are in OUR EARTH'S SPACE, and can very much target the devils who may live here on Earth!! It is closer to call it a missile than to call it a falling star, which it is not!! SO THINK ABOUT THAT!!
Time and again these "missile" have entered and fallen on Earth. Meteors that enter other atmospheres of other planets or heavenly bodies are not really visible to us from Earth. So, missile is the best description of a meteor.
Do not begin to blame the Lord Almighty for the translating incabilities of the translator or the ability of the English language to receive translations without losing the layers of meaning impregnated in the words and our inablity to read or understand Arabic.
Peace.

Because the wackjobs who made up the various religious books in the world (bibles, quran, etc...) were sitting around, smoking some dubes, laughing their heads off going "oh yeah, and then we'll have this god guy like really do weirdo stuff" and the other guy goes "yeah, yeah good idea, we'll have him knock up a virgin and the other god well, he'll think lamps look like stars" and then the other guy said "you guys are blitzed, you'd have to be retard to believe this stuff we are writing, oh well, pass the chips, I've got the munchies".....

How can God get confused? He has knowledge without attaining it, He knows all without experience or experimentation. First of all you must know the Arabic language, secondly you must know that the Holy Qur'an is written in poetry form; I mean try translating Shakespeare into modern English, and they're both English so imagine how difficult it is to translate Arabic to English. So translations aren't exactly accurate, the translator uses the best word they think is close enough.
