People love to criticize the government and immigrants. This was not our country to begin with. We took it from Native Americans.

people either dont know or pretend to forget, they think they are better and that America is their land, we have been here so long that we have become ignorant and selfcentered, people need to be reminded of where we came from

I think it's illegal immigrants that is the hot issue right now not immigrants.

Bully for anyone who wants to come here legally and start a new life. Of course, the immigrants I've known want it to be just like it was back in the old country and not adapt to the way things are here or even learn the language. If that's the case, then stay in the old country.

I have heard a story. Seems an American leader said to an Indian leader when India was fighting for freedom and asked helped from America, the Aryans who came first to India should leave India first giving it back to the natives... Well I don't know if I am Aryan or not, Most Indians wont know... Not to mention the theory of Aryan and Dravidian itself was divide and rule.. and now you can imagine who should leave America first...
On legal or illegal... wonder if there was a legal system then to differentiate legal or illegal when the immigrants entered America when there was not government as now... Sovereign government... Who made those rules...

If the natives had welcomed the immigrants then...why not learn something from those natives...to welcome other immigrants...

And I thought coming legally to America isn't any easy at all..why suggest something that's difficult..rather say not to come...

A lot of Americans also have native American blood in them. I do, part Cherokee.
My father is an immigrant. He had money, an education and job skills when he came here speaking English. Legally.
Illegal immigration does hurt the American worker and could drive wages lower if to many came. Something called balance is needed. That can happen easier by following the steps to become a legal resident.
Also, if to many hispanics migrate to America, it will make it harder on non-Hispanics because the Hispanics would be filling the allotted quota themselves.

Agreed. I am Cheorokee Indian on my mothers side. However, I am Scots-Irish on my dads side. My beef is not with immigration. My beef is with Illegal immigration. Any country has the right to decide who to let in to their boarders. I feel the same way about the UK or Iran or China. I don't think I have a right to be there just because I can figure out a way to get across the boarder.
We need to hold Politicians and Businesses accountable for this mess.

What a great apologist YOU are! LOL I have some bad news: A lot of the events you're referring do, including the signing of that darn ol' Constitution thing, happened hundreds of years ago.
Do you really think that throwing the gates wide open is going to build a better america? Honestly? I mean, I'm not going to vote for you, make your own decisions, just remember that what we've got going on now for 'immigration' is radically different than what went on 100 years ago, back when Ellis island was the main port of entry, and you end up living in the country you vote(or don't) for, I hope you're up on your spanish...I intend to take night classes...

You really need a dictionary on what an immigrant is.

And add a history book about Indian relations with the first settlers. They help them-they were not unwanted in the beginning by most.

Than get a Law book-and look up Illegals or law breakers.

When OUR ancestors came to this country, there were NO immigration laws!! But, NOW we DO have laws, and for a VERY good reason!! You people do not seem to grasp the FACT,that we are talking about ILLEGALS,not immigrants!!! Illegals have broken our laws,by sneaking into this country! We do NOT know what kind of background they have, whether they are CRIMINALS or not ( OVER a million crimes are committed each year by ILLEGALS!) We do NOT know what kinds of DISEASES they are carrying! Some of them have diseases we have eradicated, or have NO cure for!! In the past 40 years there were 900 cases of leprosy reported in the U.S., but in the last THREE years (with the INCREASE of illegals pouring into the country) there are OVER 10,000 cases!!! These diseases would have been discovered BEFORE they entered the U.S.,IF these people would have only come here LEGALLY,instead of sneaking in!!!

I agree. it has to do with the total denial of american citizens. We were ALL once immigrants. The original illegal immigrants were the pilgrims and Columbus before them. They came to the Americas and killed off the majority of the NATIVE AMERICANS. They were just as bad as that gang MS-13 is now. All illegals and rampant killings to take over everything

WHY OH WHY OH WHY?
BOOO HOOO HOOO HOO HOO !!!
BOO HOO HOO HOO HOO!
OVer and over and over again.
Don't Americans realize they were once immigrants?
you belong to some kind of cult?
Of course they realize it.
But they had to go through Ellis Island (or other point of entry)and needed to be documented. And possibly rejected.
You think 20 million undocumented people walking around a good idea?
If we allowed everybody into country that wanted to immigrate here the population of America would be one billion in about a month.
2 billion by fall.

my grandparents from Ireland...via Ellis Island.

Native Americans did not establish a sovereign government, and had no laws regulating immigration. WE DO. Nobody is against rational, measured immigration, but as for the illegals, ROUND THEM UP AND SEND THEM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
