I, myself, am a baptist. In order for you to be baptised you must talk to the pastor of your church. He will want to hear your testimony (how you know that you are saved). If you know for sure that you've accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, a Saviour that died for your sins and rose again so that you might have life, you have a testimony. After this he may want to counsel a bit with you or he may set up batismial serivce in which he will baptise you in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptisim is a picture of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. He should take you into the batismial, immerse you under the water, and raise you back up, and out of the water. If this is not the way he does it, he is not doing it the way the Bible commands and you might consider finding a baptist church who does it the way it is commanded.

Water Baptism should be done after one has accepted Christ into their heart as Lord and Savior. There is also Baptism of the Spirit....this is a more personal moment when you make your confession and ask God to be Lord of your life (and truly mean it in your heart). This is not more important for Catholics than Protestants as the thread above claims. You should talk to your Pastor about doing this, because there is more to this. If you are unchurched, you should pray that the Lord will lead you to the church that He wants you to be a part of.

I too would suggest that you speak to someone in the Baptist Church who can guide and direct you in your desire to be baptised.

Have you looked into Catholic doctrine on Baptism? The Catholic Church places more importance on Baptism than the Protestant tradition does.

This link will tell you about the 7 Sacraments, including Baptism, as the early Church understood it:

This question should be directed at one of the ministers in your church.

Baptism comes in two forms: Baptism of water and baptism of spirit. This key is belief, and what you believe within is demonstrated without, the ceremony done by your ministers. The fact that you want to be baptize has started the process of becoming a Christian. It is your faith-believing (this is one word in Greek) that makes you willing to be Christian .

But there is more. God has given you a wonderful tool. It is the Christian bible that tells of God's promises and how he has kept them. It states the Christian message of hope and it tell us how we are to be "like" God in our daily life. Again this is a topic for your ministers.

I will give you three Psalms for you to consider: Psalm 100 tell us who we belong, Psalm 23 tell us who guides, and Psalm 22 tell us how to live when we are in pain. (Psalm 22 is the last prayer Jesus said on the cross). There are more (much more) but your ministers are best qualified to help. They are there to serve and help you.

Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus.
BELIEVE in your HEART that God raised Him from the dead.
Talk to the local pastor of the Church you are attending.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
