My seven month old puppy LOVES to chase the red dot, just like my cats chase the dot! Do dogs do this very often, or did he learn this game from my cats?
He also EATS catnip! Just how weird is my pup?

my dog does the same thing. he acts drunk after eating the catnip whenever he sees my cat eatin' it. :) lol. but yea, my dog's the same way.

The whole laser thing is really common. My friend's dog does it and my dog does it. If you were a dog, and you saw something moving all over the ground . . wouldn't you want to chase it? I know I would hahah. And I've heard of dogs eating catnip, but it's not healthy. It'll make your dog fat, it has more nutrients or something that your dog doesn't need. What I'd do is put the bowl of catnip on a table that your cat can get up on . . . but then again then your cat will be trained he can get on any table. I guess if you don't mind?

We have a cat and a dog (we had the dog first). The dog chases the red laser light as does the cat. I guess they think it's a bug or something, as they try to catch flies and such. But, no, the dog doesn't eat catnip.

i dont know about the catnip if thats good for a dog or not to be eating it, but the toy can make any small animal chase...my cats love it and i dont see why a dog wouldnt love it too.
your dog isnt weird at all but do ask if the catnip is okay for the dog to eat.

yes, we had a chihuahua that would chase the laser pointer and even try to run up the wall to get it. if you aimed it at an electrical outlet and then turned it off he would stand there and wait then look back at you like he knows turned it off.
as far as the catnip it is actually a seditive for dogs. i give it to my big dog if we are having alot of company over because he barks constantly.

As for the laser yes I have one who chases it. And her daughter - all she has to do is see the pointer and she runs and hides...not sure why but she HATES it.
