well i don't recommend taking pills mostly because I'm not big on taking medicine if i don't really need it. You could try the whole counting backwards thing. Or work out during the day take a shower before bed drink warm milk and try to fall asleep. Or play soft soothing music that will make you fall asleep. or read a ridiculously boring book that could definitely put you to sleep.

I have the same problem. Try laying down and watching a movie with the lights off. If that don't work, try a glass of wine. If that don't work then you might want to tell your doctor and they can give you sleep aids like lunesta, sonata, or ambien.

try taking a hot shower before bedtime. If I still can't sleep, I take Advil to relax my muscles, then a sudafed to help me breathe better. Works like a charm for me, and I don't wake up groggy at all. Ambien also works good, but it's expensive unless you have good insurance... sweet dreams ;-)

When I'm having a hard time getting to sleep, I lay in bed on my back with my eyes shut , I put my arms straight down beside me. I then focus on my feet saying to myself ; my feet are relaxed. Then maybe 30 seconds later I will say to myself ; my calf's are relaxed. Usually I never make it to my knees because now I'm relaxed and ready to go to sleep. This works for me, it should work for you.

Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Beer - Seriously,
I would never take any sleep-aid except for Tylenol PM. Take Ambien if you want to become a Zombie.
