I have been smoking for approximately 30 years and, like yourself, started at 14/15 years of age. Some people upon trying their first cigarette makes them feel so sick it turns them off for good (lucky them). Others become so wrapped up in the social aspect continue past the initial sick feeling, simply because it takes them into a new social circle, they continue. I'm not a medical practitioner or a scientist, but I believe, as a smoker, It takes a few cigarettes for the body to recognize the nicotine as a stimulant and develop a dependency. I would have to say that initially, at your age, it is more social status than addiction. If you stop now and realize that it is NOT COOL to smoke, your body will not suffer any ill effects and there will be no withdrawal symptoms, well of course perhaps maybe some of the nasty social withdrawal symptoms from your buddies. Please take my advice, don't wait to find out how long it will take to become addicted. You are now at an advantage, enjoy your life smoke-free, take the social plunge and live with any negative crap now, you will thank yourself later.
Soon to be ex-smoker.

Three.. The frist two make you sick to your stomach and after that you have enough in your system to become addicted.. And it takes 72 hours for the nicotine to leave your system.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM......
On avrage I spend 1456 dollars a year in ciggs. Do you know how many vido games I could have bought with that money.. Not to mention that I would be able to run a mile if I were not a smoker.. Just stop now....

0 - a million.
It all depends on the person and what they think of smoking. Many people quit and get over the physical addition, but the mental can stay for years.
Your best bet is to stop now before it becomes a serious problem. Honestly, I costs too much.

Addiction to nicotine is usually established in young smokers within about a year of first experimenting with cigarettes - in many cases, before reaching the age at which it is legal to buy cigarettes.
Seventy-five percent of the cigarette smokers reported at least one of the four symptoms of addiction, as compared to 29% of cocaine users, 23% of marijuana users, and 14% of alcohol users
At least one symptom of addiction was reported by 91% of daily cigarette smokers, as compared to 79% of daily cocaine users, 58% of daily marijuana users, and 48% of daily alcohol users
Smokers between the ages of 12 and 17 reported symptoms of addiction at lower rates of cigarette consumption than older smokers did. More than one-quarter of 12- to 17-year-olds who smoked one to five cigarettes per day had symptoms of addiction, and so did about 12 percent of those who were less-than-daily smokers
The average smoker takes about 10 puffs on every cigarette, and nicotine levels in the brain peak within 10 seconds of inhaling. Since the satisfaction one gains from smoking lasts only a few minutes, smokers soon crave another cigarette. If one cigarette supplies approximately 10 surges of nicotine to the brain, smoking 1½ packs of cigarettes a day provides a smoker with approximately 300 nicotine hits.

Stop right this minute!!! you are probably already addicted. It's a horrible habit that will eventually kill you early in life. You may not care now but one day you will regret it!
