Religion, or in the name of religion. Wars/burnt at the stake/child human bombs/ confusion and psycotic behavior/ brain washed confused children, that grow up to be sociapathic adults. You and I could make a vast list, but anyone think that if all religions were banned in public and made private, that it would end wars and make the world a peacefull place. If so, is religion anti-good? I'm a spiritual person, i pray to God as a christian and he always helps me, but nobody knows I'm a christian and I've never been to church, not as an adult. If there were no Muslims, no Budhists, no catholics, no christians just no religion to be seen anywhere, do you think that things would improve? do you think that the twin towers would be standing now? To my simple mind, religion, the public sort, has caused most of the worlds problems and is still causing mysery and suffering in every aspect of worldwide civilization, from child confusion to death by war. When will it all end, is mans fault?

I agree that religion should be private, but I do not agree that it should be 'banned from sight'. The easiest way to get people to clam up about their religion is to treat them as being insane whenever they bring it up. After all, they ARE insane.

The institution in the world responsible for more death, persecution, and atrocities more than any other institution put together is The State.

The number of horrible deeds perpetrated in the name of The State makes everything else pale in comparison.

Yet you're not on here calling for The State to be "banned from sight" -- probably because you have no personal stake in seeing The State defamed and discredited.

That's because The State doesn't teach moral lessons that you don't want to hear because they don't jive with your chosen lifestyle. Religion does teach such things, though, which is why you feel the psychological need to attack and discredit it.

Face it -- you're not really concerned with wars and burnings at the stake and so on. Those are just rocks that you can use to throw at religion, because it makes you feel better about your own immorality.

I can see right through your motives like a cheap shower curtain.

Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered. I don't think banning religion would save you...

I truly believe that faith in your god is a personal matter. Why do these people have to use bumper stickers and put billboards up proclaiming their religion? I think my god hears me just as well, probably better, when I'm standing in my pasture than in a building full of hypocrites.

no, religion should not be banned.
this whole country was founded on christian beliefs.
if you read a bible there used to be ten commandments.
Jesus told us that the one only true commandment is to love one another.
if the people that are doing all of the acts of violence could just remember that, then there wouldn't be any of these problems.

this is the greatest country in the world.
even though we do have our own problems here.

this is my opinon.(that's one of the best things about this country,i'm allowed my opinion, you're allowed yours!)

I don't think all religion should be banned from sight. The stuff you were talking about on your extra information about that stuff thats happening because of religion, is way incorrect! The reason those things happen is because of our own decisions. We make those things happen.

No. Religion can not be banned. Banning has killed so many people already, but religion is still here. We will only have peace if we stop banning religion.

Why don't you surf on other parts of the board if it bothers you? That, and true Christianity involves fellowship. You can't grow in your faith without God working through others in your life. Jesus wasn't silent about what He believed. Neither should we be!

There are forums where people can express anything they want, including racism. I don't think we have ultimate freedom; I think it's always a crime to incite violence. But that is a good place for religion.
