What kind of backward thinking is that? You still need to pay every single penny you owe!!! Unless your creditor takes pity on you and says never mind the debt.
It's kinda harsh but almost all of life from birth on is harsh...that's life, as they say!

ok. Legal stuff first: Paying off of debts will naturally fall to any surviving beneficiaries.
If you have no family or friend beneficaries, then who can collect off a dead person.
However, there is a moral dilemna too. While one cannot go BACK and undo their debts, they can restrain from incurring lots more in the final stages of life. Especially if they are debts incurred just for the sake of incurring debts. A moral issue within the person themselves.
Unfortunately, the last few months of a peson's life with cancer does not allow for much Fun time spending sprees. While I would at first think of going and dying on a beach in Hawaii instead of a hosptal. I is very unlikely one would feel well enough for this vacation, though.
At the end of ones life, one is usually thinking philosophically and spirirtually, even if all their life they have been party people.
Well, the whole topic has me a bit creepy.
yikes
I am going out to enjoy the day!
I would spend a lot of time just having fun while I was still healthy.

When I felt that something was wrong with me back in 2001 ..I left my job and drove home and made sure all my debts were taken care of...then I asked my mother to take me to the emergency room and sat there for 4 hours ....then when my name was called I stood up and passed out on the E.R. floor ...YES I would make sure all my debts are paid..why would I want to leave that expense or worry to my beloved family? My death would be enough for them to handle let alone my bills...I have always made sure that my estate would cover what ever expenses I leave behind.....after all....they are mine. I'm in remission now from Leukemia......

I would get a lucrative job. Save some of the money & with the rest, pay my debts. Of the money saved, I would enjoy myself for the rest of my days & some of it I would donate for cancer.

No, you should still have to pay your debts. They're your debts, and what do you need with the money, anyway? You're dying.

Depends on how much you love your family... most people any more would rather rack up bills before they die because family means crap to them. I would get everything in order... I would also change my diet to all fresh fruits and veggies because I heard it cures cancer (I said I'll try it if it happens to me), but for right now I like my burgers and I love my family.

Why do they always give you three months to live? No one ever hears that they have until next Thursday, or until January, 2037.
