they're hips are set slightly different then other birds, the size of the body have a lot to do with it too, think of an egrit or crane, they walk, the longer a birds legs are, the more likely they'll walk...

Mourning doves are beautiful and have a lovely coo, but they're as dumb as wood. Crows, ugly as they are, are the smartest bird I've ever run into. Outside of a pet store, that is. Pigeons around here have tattoos and piercings; like the sewer rats, but with wings.

Sorry I don't know, but parakeets can walk too, as well as parrots and other tamed birds. It's mostly wild ones like sparrows and others.

I guess its because of the bone structure. Th bone structure in birds comes in various types. If you want to find out more, you might want to check out your library for more info or do a websearch.

I don't know. i have cockatiels and they walk. The only birds I've ever seen hop are songbirds.
