if humans are more intelligent than monkeys, then to have evolved from monkeys makes no sense. Unless two monkeys merge and evolve into a human. Is this what happened? And if not, why are there still monkeys

Okay, first of all...we didn't evolve FROM monkeys.
Monkeys, apes, gorillas and humans all evolved from a common ancestor who was not exactly an ape, gorilla, human or monkey. That is why there are "still" monkey--we never were monkeys.
Second, the offspring of 2 parents could indeed be smarter. Otherwise how would we get people like Einstein and DaVinci? Everyone has a tiny bit of mutation in them as well as a blend of the two parents. That's how evolution works. If your mutation makes it more likely you'll survive, you'll pass it onto your offspring. If it makes you die, then you won't pass it along.

This idea that we evolved form monkeys keeps coming up. Where did it originally start ? Certainly not by Darwin. The theory of evolution states that all forms of life, as we know it today, began millions of years ago.
The earth at one time was a mass of red hot material. Life of any kind was impossible. As the surface cooled and solidified , through a combination of heat, sunlight, and the elements tiny one cell forms of life came into existance.
Through time some of these one cell plants and animals united and became more complex forms of plants and animals. Because of the necessity to find food, and to reproduce, these early forms of life, through millions of years adapted and changed to meet the requirements.
The early forms of life that was to evolve into what we are today may have resembled the ape forms. That is not to say that at one time humans were monkeys or apes, but rather that they may have had hairy bodies and could have been ape-like.
The belief is that animals started from these lower forms and developed parallel to each other That is not saying that one specie became another.
So the answer to your question is that no scientific person believes that two monkeys mated and produced a person.
Next question. is this what happened ? Ans. No
Why are there still monkeys ? Ans. They like everything else are at that stage of evolution. What they will evolve into, a few million years from now is anybody's guess.

APES!

Anyway, some people are taller than their parents. Over the last few hundred years, the human population on a whole has become taller. Does that make sense? Now imagine the same thing happening with intelligence.

The reason that there are still apes is simple. One tribe of Apes got smarter and evolved into humans. others didn't and evolved into gorillas or chimps or orangutans or whatever.

The idea is that humans came from ape like creatures. Not exactly apes or monkeys, but a human form that is similar to this. And as their bodies evolved, so did their mental capacity and ability to reason and remember things and also learn material. Even though this is the idea, I'm not in support of it.

Evolution is based on the idea of one species morphing or evolving into a completely new one. It's about time that Christians start realizing that evolution may be God inspired and even more reason to have faith. Although science can "prove" evolution, to some extent, they can't prove how it all started or why it is the way it is. This gives us faith to say that this mystery is still possibly God's creation. Don't be so quick to dismiss evolution, it may come back to bite you in the butt later on.

The theory suggests that we evolved from mokeys because they are our ancestrial primates. But because many people think that it is just a stupid idea, many people rely on religion to explain. I dont agree with religion because some of their explanations are just impossible. plus, some people want a logical explanation to glorify their beliefs instead of ideologies from religion, I mean, we didnt just come from nothing, there has to be an origin where both parties can accept as facts. There are still monkeys around because of natural selection and adaptation. From "primates" to neanderthals, evolution takes place and that is why it happens. And then to homo erectus and to homo sapiens, we are what we are today.

We did not evolve from monkeys that is why it makes no sense. God created Adam and Eve.

The evolution from apes/monkeys theory hasn't even been proven, that's why its called a theory and not a fact.
