I went to the doctor for a pregnancy test. Instead of drawing blood or having me pee in a cup, she put me on the sonogram. I was also anorexic and hooked on meth at the time (to lose weight I told myself) and hadn't had a period in over a year. When I saw the baby, he was 13 weeks along, one week farther than I said I'd have an abortion at. He was perfect, looked like a baby on the screen. He kicked. At that moment I felt the presence of the Almighty and audibly heard Him wisper "This is My gift to you." No, I wasn't high, I'd been off for 3 weeks and while my bf was getting better, I was throwing up still, which is why I thought I might be pregnant.
That was my defining moment. That was 7 years ago. I gave my life to Christ soon after that. My youth pastor from junior high (my parents used to make me go to church) now ran a church/coffeehouse, so I went there looking for answers and explained what happened and they prayed with me. My life has been forever changed. My son is healthy, with no adverse affects from how I treated myself that first trimester. I'm not with his dad anymore but in a Christian marriage to the most amazing man of God I know, and am pregnant again. This time it's a little girl.

I am a recent convert.
Atheism was fun while it lasted, but reality is.. there is no reality, it is all delusion built upon delusion and subjectively experienced by each individual. What is blue to you could be red to me, etc. I converted based upon my own personal feelings and desires of how I feel my life should be. I am not positive that God exists, however, I feel that there is something out there. I use Christianity to try to define the feelings I have and it seems to fit them.
The funny thing of it all is, we are all wrong in one way or another. Atheists that cling on certain beliefs today will be considered rather uneducated and barbaric in a few centuries. Most Atheists will forfeit any belief system, even secular ones such as Cryonics, and Transhuman. I had many conversations with devout atheists about the duplicates paradox and almost all of them can not possibly begin to explain it, and the ones that do lose all rationality when they do.
So to conclude, my conversion was one of convenience. I could care less what other Atheists (The bitter variety) believe, as I consider them to be just as full of it as the next person.

If this is a subject your really interested in, I suggest reading some of C.S. Lewis's books. He goes into great depths about his conversion from being an Atheist to a Christian.

I was never an atheist, but I believe that more people will start to realize that God is real, and it's sad, cuz when they do, it's gonna be too late.

What kind of fairy tale world do you live in that you think atheists are converting to christianity? I think it's A LOT more likely that the reverse is happening.

you use the words "know" 'real" and "encounter", which would denote a physical meeting with a Deity. Where is your evidence for this?
