Its already under discussion. Wouldn't be surprised to see it in the near future.

To Heather W....Consider the possibility of your husband being captured by the enemy or injured behind enemy lines. Having a disc that makes it possible to find him just might save his life.

As a Soldier, I'd love to have one. With today's technology, the frequencies could be randomly reset daily by satelite and turned off if needed. The world is only seeing how magnificent our technology is in the military. We crossed Iraq in less time than it took to take a small island in WWII.

But the ACLU would have a field day. Anything to stop the Soldier from living longer.

No matter what the answers you get for this question. It was a fair question to have asked. Although It would have been better if it had been done before they went to Iraq. But with all the talk about it now. Will have taken away any advantage that the military might have gained from it.

There are too many people involved in this idea to keep it a secret and it would have to be kept secret. If we put these devices in our troops to find them if lost or taken hostage the New York Times would find out about it and expose the plan to the enemy. The terrorists would (not so gently) remove the device.

The disc is not used to find the pet, it's used to identify the pet once found. Why not do it to the soldiers..... Ummm, they're NOT pets. There are other ways to identify them.

Because your soldiers are not your pets.
You don't love them as much you love your pets. Otherwise you wouldn't be sending them to unholy wars like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bad idea.
Then, whoever we are fighting against, when they capture a soldier, they will simply cut it out of them. And , if they don't know the exact location, they will keep trying and trying until they find it.
If they will cut off heads, don't you think they would cut pieces off soldier to find device?
And that they would be in a hurry to find device?

It could too easily be taken advantage of. AND, if the enemy knows abou these chips, which they most likely would, they'd remove or inactivate them in soldiers anyway, causing harm to them and defeating the purpose.

Yeah right. Because then they'd eventually want to do that to the rest of us. I for one would refuse. And isn't this sort of thing mention in the Bible, possibly the mark of the beast? Anything like a chip, disk, etc, I will refuse
