Cats love to be petted from the top of the head to the tip of their tail. If you are gentle, they will let you do that for hours on end. Also they love to have their chins scratched, and the sides of their face scratched or rubbed. They also love to be scratched behind their ears. If you're real loving to them sometimes they will still bite you but it will be their way of showing affection. They never really bite to hurt anyone, they are just showing their love. I know this because I have 6 cats and everyone of them does these things. They always make the purring sound, sometimes just from talking to them in a loving tone of voice. If you say, "I love you" to a little kitty and then pet them from the top of the head to the tip of their tail in a loving manner, they will definitely start purring for you. But remember you must be very gentle with them. Once you get a cat to love you, they will love you unconditionally.

first of all, cats can sence you just like dogs you must not be an animal lover, this might sound strange but maybe if you start talking nice and friendly too your cat and show it your not going to hurt him or her, it will eventually come to you. it likes to be pet on the head, it depends on there personality to. here's a secret, buy it a cat toy a mouse or a ball with a bell in it . put it on a string and pull it on the floor , see how it will chase it, your cat will love you. also you need to feed your cat by yourself to get use to you.good luck hope the advise works

Did you mean "Where DO cats like to be touched?" Hmmm... I assume you pet them on their back or head like most other domestic animals, but if an animal does not want to be petted, it could mean several things. Most likely, it is that they can sense the petter's true underlying personality and react negatively if that person is negative.... Animals have a sixth sense about those things.
