I am starting a African American group in my high school. Its going to be named Society for African American High School advancement. Do you guys have any ideas. Since black Americans always score lower then whites and Africans I want to form a group to help incoming black freshmen to better in school.

I think thats a good idea. I start a group of white kids down the same path, we'll call our club Krazy Kids Korner.

Within the group....keep notes on the tendencies of each teacher and inform the younger members what to expect...also keep old exams to use for prep.

Tutor each other. Seek out a faculty member to help/mentor.

See if there are any larger organizations already in place that you may affiliate with.

Keep a list of scholorships available, etc,.

Good Luck.

why does it have to be segergated why not help more then just black students, does it not make more sence to incorporate some of the students that are scoring better into a group that is not scoring so good inorder to learn from eachother?I think your idea is good i just dont think that people should be kept out because of race or color, and that goes for all groups.

If your normal school does not make you better.
Do you think you can do better without the extra help from your normal school?
Just find out why your brothers and sisters do not want to go to school?
Help them out with reading and writing .
Leave the educational skills to the school to teach them.
Get them to read English classic literatures and short stories.
Don't feed them with ghostly modern history or ghostly kitchen ghost stories.

Our high school has a separate wing for 9th graders called freshman academy and partners them with mentors and it helps ease their transition into high shcool.
