What are you wanting to find here? If you need to know what diameter drain you need for new construction, it depends on what your fixture load is going to be. A 2" drain pipe can handle 21 to 26 fixture units, which would handle most homes and small offices.

i'm not a maths genius and there is some equation to use. how about you draw circle on paper using the pipe and put string round the circle then measure the string length you used lol
if hes right above me im wrong if im thinking the outside of circle is diameter ...
Confused now away to lie down and not answering maths questions again.

Measure the circumference (distance around it) with a measuring tape, then divide the circumference by pi (approx 3.14).
