P.S. I use a Mac, not a PC (and not Windows). Thanks!

Hold down the alt key and type the following 3-digit codes on the NUMBER PAD on the right:

á = alt+160
é=alt+ 130
í = alt+161
ó = alt+162
ú = alt + 163
ñ = alt + 164
Ñ = alt + 165

Also helpful:
¿ = alt + 0191
¡ = alt + 0161

the easiest way is to use the accent mark codes. these are the codes I have always used-- I believe they'll work for Windows ME and above:
á Alt 0225
é Alt 0233
í Alt 0237
ñ Alt 0241
ó Alt 0243
ú Alt 0250
ü Alt 0252
¿ Alt 0191
¡ Alt 0161

The way you enter the codes is to first hold down Alt. While holding down Alt, enter the number sequence (make sure to include the 0). If you enter the code correctly the character will appear on the screen-- example: if you correctly enter the Alt 0225 code, the a con acento (á) will appear on the screen. In my experience, the three-digit codes have never worked. only use the 4 digit ones with the zeros.

The alt codes work well if you want to keep them posted by your computer or to memorize them, but you can also reconfigure your keyboard (see instructions below) and just use your right Alt key to type any Spanish character.

You can use the character code table and enter them by holding down the "ALT" key while entering the 3 digit code.

Use the ALT key plus a 3 digit code:

á = ALT + 160
é = ALT + 130
í = ALT + 161
ó = ALT + 162
ú = ALT + 163
ñ = ALT + 164
Ñ = ALT + 165
ü = ALT + 129

Espero que esto te ayude, amiga. :)

Just setup your keyboard to Spansish. (Go to the Control Panel, then to International, and configure it...)
