Doing seated forward bends such as janu sirsasana and paschimottanasana, and doing spinal twists such as bharadvajasana, marichyasana and parsva virasana will stimulate your abdominal organs and improve digestion.
Sarvangasana will stimulate the thyroid and parathyroid glands, which controls your metabolism.
Doing Surya Namaskar regularly will also boost your metabolism, and will aid in weight loss depending on how vigorous your practice is.
Unless you are an intermediate or advanced student, please do not attempt sarvangasana without the supervision of a qualified yoga teacher.

Yoga can be a great friend in every diet. It's all about hormones balance. There are no "bad" hormones. But when hormones get unbalanced, bad things happen in your body. Your body releases cortisol when you're under stress. It's part of the whole “fight or flight” response. Increased cortisol levels could be making you fat. The kind of fat you are most likely to store from elevated cortisol is called visceral fat — the dangerous belly fat that’s linked to diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.
I'm following this great online program that teaches how to use YOGA to lose weight. You should check it out as well. This is the link of the site: http://yogafitness.toptips.org

Is it the Surya Namaskar?? I'm not sure really, although I know I really hate that one cos it's really hectic and goes on and on. I know there's one called the jack-knife in English (don't know the Sanskrit name) where you breathe in .. bend at the waist, clasp hands behind knees and bring your head down to touch your knees, breathing normally. You hold it for a few moments then lift up and pat your cheeks (the ones on your face!). I remember they said you were supposed to do it only once a day and it was supposed to fill you with energy. I guess there are lots of yoga asanas that do this .. so wait and see what other people answer.

Yes...it is a multi-movement position.
1: Unplug the Nintendo.
2: Turn off the TV.
3: Turn off the PC.
4: Go outside and play or do some yard work. Get some sun.

no, but I just heard about it on TV yesterday
I'm thinking that it involved using a long stretch cord under a foot & having upward & outward stretched arms.
