I wear invisalign braces and sometimes mine get really gross. There is a product called Kleenite that cleans retainers. You just add it to water and put your retainer in it. You can usually ask your orthodontist about it or go online and see where you can find it. I always get it from my orthodontist.

Listerine or any other antibacterial mouthwash. Put them in a small bowl and let them soak for an hour or so. Take it out and brush with your toothbrush and toothpaste and then rinse. Make sure that when you put them in that your teeth are flossed and brushed or the food and bacteria that is on your teeth will transfer to the retainer.

Brush it really good and soak it in rubbing alcohol or mouthwash, and then brush it again with toothpaste, and then rinse it. You should brush your retainer every time you brush your teeth.

put it in peroxide or mouth wash and let it soak... Or take a tooth brush and brush it with toothpaste!

Do not put it in hot water or it will change the retainer!

You have to wash it because bacteria or fungi might be growing on it or just get a new one because it might be damaged.
