There's this Japanese family who moved in 3 blocks away from my house. They live upstairs, the first floor is a restaurant. They have the best sushi anywhere in the entire city. I love it, but the people there are such gossips. When I go there, the woman tells me about when were my sisters there, who were they with, what did they eat. She tells me when my mom was there, who was she with, even what was she talking about. She tells me about the neighbors, and what are they talking about. Sometimes she gets into the conversation when I'm there with someone. I love the food, but I don't want to go with my friends because she'll probably tell my mom and everyone every detail of my conversation with my friends.

Remember, when you're not there, she's telling others what you did when you were there.

Avoid it like the plague.

Talk to the manager, but if she's the manager, then tell her to stop the gossip about your family or you won't be back, and tell the other members of your family to tell them the same thing. That should do the trick!

I would if the food is that good... tell her you don't feel comfortable knowing about he details of every family member who goes there and you just go to eat. Be nice, and she may not spit in your food.

I wouldn't want to go back there. Even if it was the best food in the world, I like to have a meal in peace. And I like to feel like my life is my business alone.

That will wreck a great place. I can't think of a nice way you can say, "Stop talking to me...or about me." I wonder if you can't get take-out. That way you can enjoy the great food, in the quiet of your own home.

Do they do takeout? If so, use that. If not, I wouldn't go back personally. You go out to a restaurant to enjoy yourself and, from the sounds of it, you're not.
