Sounds like sheer paranoia to me. On the parents part, not yours. There are so many bad people out there. You have to put yourself in the shoes of the parents. Imagine you had a little girl and saw some man take her to the restroom and shut the door. Wouldn't you be a little concerned?
If I were you, I would find an adult female to take little girls to the restroom. You will be protecting yourself that way.
Good Luck

Look at it from their point of view. We all know that pedophiles are typically male and work in jobs in which they have contact with children. Most pedophiles are not registered sex offenders, but the average every day family member, clergy, coach, or teacher. Parents are extremely sensitive to this these days. Parents of little girls don't want ANY men in the bathroom with their daughters, and even some dads are uncomfortable doing so. They're just concerned for their kid and want to protect her from harm, that's all. It has nothing to do with you, more with the fear that the boogey man can be anwhere at any time but they as parents cannot. You can't trust anyone these days.
To protect your own rear end, don't do that again. Make sure there's always a woman in the classroom to handle that, and tell the higher ups you made an honest mistake but understand the parents' fears and it won't happen again.

These days you have to be careful with children. You should have gotten a female to take the girl to the bathroom. All the sick things that are going on with child molesters, you need to be more cautious.
I know you meant well, but parents take things the wrong way and want to keep their children as safe as possible. You never know who will try to molest your child. If it was your kid, would you want a man taking her to the toilet? Probably not.
Next time a little girl needs help in the potty, ask a female to help.

Some parents are completely paranoid. Poor kid. She's in for a lifetime of problems.
And by the way, For the people that think it's just fine for a female teacher to take a child to the restroom, are there no female pedophiles out there? get real. You're kidding yourself if you think you child is always safe with a women and never safe with a man. If I was a man this would really bother me. I worked in childcare and preschool for 20 years and I can say that perves and freaks come in all sizes, shapes, and sexes.

Well, we do have a problem here. Are you in fact a man or a woman? Your avatar looks decidedly masculine, but in one of your other questions you referred to being a woman. It does make a difference to parents, if you are a man or a lesbian cross-dressing as a man. This is one of the reasons I don't like having men work in day-care or kindergartens. Even if the guy is not any kind of a pervert, there is enough paranoia generated by the media that this kind of incident can crop up. Generally, it makes more sense for the child to be home with the parents until they are able to go to the bathroom by themselves. But if not, then a same-sex aid or teacher should be helping them.
Of course, a cross-dressing lesbian would add complications to it, no matter how careful she was.

Sadly, we live in a world where paranoia has set in and we end up paying the price for the very few individuals who abuse others. I was a secondary school teacher and once held a private counselling session in an office alone with a 13 yr old boy whose best friend had recently died of a brain tumour. The boy came to me because I was his class tutor, and I had also lost my husband to cancer. We had a chat in an office. When colleagues heard I had been alone with the boy in a closed office they told me I should have kept the door open as I was leaving myself open to accusations! Of course, this did not happen and the boy was just pleased to be able to talk in private. Unfortunately we now have to protect OURSELVES against potential accusation. Parents have had too many stories about paedophiles related to them by the press. Their fear is understandable, but it should be remembered that 99% of school workers are professionals who care about children.

A female helper should have gone in with her. It is not appropriate for a male to be with their daughter alone in the restroom. I've had this issue come up as a costumer. I can't measure the girls. So I have an assistant do it, and the measurements are never right.
Oh, and a funny note- I'm gay, so I don't even care about the girls, but it LOOKS better. Ugh! Yes people are strange.

I think the parents were worried about a male taking the child to the bathroom. To many bad people in the world make parents jumpy and who knows how a 4 year old would explain what you did. So don't take it wrong. think about a parent that doesn't care where the child is or who is with her or him.

If you are a male, then they might have felt uncomfortable with you helping her. Did you go in to the restroom with her? Or just take her to the toilet and wait for her to finish her business? I don't think I'd want a male teacher to help my daughter IN the restroom, just showing her the way and waiting for her is different.

The media has elevated people's fears twenty fold about things like child abuse, molestation and rape. We live in a paranoid society. I would be paranoid too if a male teacher was helping my four year old daughter in the washroom. Next time ask someone female to help out.
