that THEY know when the world will end? Doesn't that go right against what is in the Bible? Or do they think they've outsmarted God? I am not an atheist just trying to antagonize people. I am a Christian myself. But I've always wanted an answer for this from all the dooms-dayers out there. I don't get it. Anyone got an answer?

While Jesus did say no one knows the day or the hour, not even the Son, He did give us clues to know when the time draws near. We are admonished to look for His return In Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:3-13
Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Is that a Christian attitude to try to antagonize people? I have an answer for you. Can you tell when Spring is very near? Can you see the signs that it is imminent? Same with the Second Coming. The signs are all around that the time is near. As for the day and hour, no one can tell you that, but the time is right. Just like going to the garden and getting a veggie, how do you know it is ready to eat? How can you tell if a watermelon is ready to harvest? You look for the signs and you know it is about ready. How do you know when a woman or even an animal is going to deliver a baby? There are certain signs that you look for and when they are there, you know it is at hand. Some are going to try to place a date and time on it no matter what as they want to look as if they have special communication from God but let no man deceive you as nobody knows the exact day but God. The signs are saying the time is very short but I would not venture setting a date that it will be.

They are afraid is part of it. They try to say when it is coming so they can repent at the last minute and be saved. Truth of the matter is that if they would STOP worrying about when the World will end then they would be able to live their life the right way. People fear the unknown and they want to make it known is another guess. If you know the date the world will end you don't need to worry about it ending as far as the unknown.

They don't know when the end will be, they just like to think they are smarter than everyone else! I do believe the end will be soon, because the Bible says that 1 of the signs that the ends is near is when all of the seasons are the same (temperature wise), and global warming has already begun, so it's nearing!

Alot of people think that they are smarter than God. Many christians and all atheists. You are absolutely right that no one can or will know when Jesus will come again. We only know that He will and that we need to be ready as the bridesmaids were with the oil in one of Jesus' parables.

I agree with (julia)....if the Bible says no one knows the day or the hour, not even the Son of GOD,.....then who are people against the Almighty GOD (Creator) to know more than Him!.....leave it at that!........ps. this is a major problem with man-kind & non believers have today....they're always trying to either put themselves Above GOD or Out Smart God with their pitiful theology, opinions, and man-made views!.........You Can't Out Do Or Out Smart The Almighty GOD!.....

I believe its coming soon! God Bless<><

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (2Timothy 3:1-5)

You're correct...some people like to try to play God. It's nothing new, though. It's the same reason some people (who are sinners) spend their time criticizing or judging other sinners...they're trying to play God!
