i am using windows xp

nor even i can find folder options in control panel

There are a few solutions:

1) Go to Start menu then RUN, type regedit Go to the directory: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\
Explorer
set the DWORD "NoFolderOptions" to 0

2) Do a System restore. Go to:
Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore and restore it back to a previous day.

3) If that doesn't work, try an in-place upgrade (aka repair installation); instructions can be found here:

go to control panel open folder option & click on restore defults. this can fix the problem if it do not, then restore ur computer to an earlier time or u can upgrade ur computer by using ur window disk it will recover the lost all information & restore all setting to windows defaults
