For Toyota, the ccar was a huge mistake. While it still had decent reliability, it was far wrose than the average Toyota (which means it still more reliable than most GM products). The big hit in the value comes from the simple fact that no one wants one. It was ugly, slow, underpowered, not well equipped, and designed poorly so you had to look to your right to see any of the gauges, all of which were in a center console. The new Yaris is better, but is still poorly equipped so it likely will not hold value as well as other Toyota products, like a Camry or Corolla.

Yes. Its a terrible car. And I wouldn't be interested in the Toyota Yaris either, since they are the same thing. After the Echo failed (mainly because its ugly) Toyota redesigned the body of the car to be more attractive and changed the name to Yaris.
