I watch History channel and I like it a lot.
At the same time I use books and Internet for learning.
If I see a nice documentary on History channel I try to find out more by reading books and searching on the net.
I should say that I use books more than TV for learning.

I do watch the History Channel and learn a lot. I use TV more than books but then I am learning for entertainment. The term for shows on the History Channel is infotainment. Unfortunately they don't go indepth like a book can.

I love the History Channel, I will admit, back when I was in school, it was boring to read from the text books, topics went too fast. Now since I'm much older, I find the segments very interesting, and will go to the library to read more on certain events in History.

The History Channel can give you a very nice overview of an event or events, but, like everything else, if you want to really understand, you have to dig deeper. That's where the books come in.

I watch it almost every day and enkoy it greatly. While I would never fully replace books with TV, I find educational TV to be a great tool for entertaining education. The shows allow you to enjoy the topics and take in things you may not read about. And for visual learners, it's a great way to explain concpets and ideas.

Yes! The history channel gives us great information, and we do not have to do too much work to receive this information. Just sit back and enjoy. Other types of reseach requires a bit more effort.

They say history has a habit of repeating itself.
That's absolutely true - I've seen the same sodding documentary on Cleopatra a dozen times now.
