The christian theory is that you can go to Hell because of the 'Seven Deadly Sins' but in reality, anyone can accept the value of this teaching. You don't have to be a Christian, you don't even have to buy the idea of what is a 'sin' to know that greed, lust, sloth, envy, pride, gluttony and wrath will destroy you if you let them overcome your will. Greedy people lose their friends. Falling to lust you loose your family. Wrath might kill you right away, or get you killed, or you might kill people. Gluttony *does* kill. Envy and pride can take hotheads and countries on the path of death. Sloth is the slow killer --the one that shrinks your brain until you are nothing but a lazy potato.
Only rocks can survive the deadly sins.

actually - the word deadly , besides meaning to cause a death, also means very great (as in deadly earnest)
So the term deadly sins really relates to the greatest of the sins - these sins are the root causes of all other sins.
If you think of any sin, it will probably start off in your eye as something seen to be had and then in your mind as a thought and eventually it will become ingrained in your heart and you will develop a desire to carry out whatever sin it is.
Human nature i'm afraid. But the seven deadly sins are definitely the foundations of all other sins.
Just an addendum after seeing your list - you can make the anagram EGGSPLAT from them.

The Seven Deadly Sins are the deadliest of all the Sin dynasty because they were schooled in the ways of the flying steak knives, training under the great master, Ginsu Sin.

The 7 Deadly Sins are called that, because all of them can and will lead to death in some fashion or form. These decrees of ungodly behavior, are so heinous in actions that they are evil in the sight of GOD.Think about it, they cite wrath not anger, sloth not laziness, greed, vanity etc. These are the worst character traits any one human being could actually have.

the goal of the seven deadly sins was to illustrate for laypersons of the church the need to be mindful of the capital(deadly)sins, or sins which require penance in Hell. Capital sin is graver than venial sin, which can be forgiven through confession.

I would guess it's something to do with the fact they are supposed to lead to hell and damnation, eternal purgatory, burning forever within the fires of hell? You get the idea.
It could be something to do with the Catholic church having a sort of hierarchy of sins, you minor sins up to the deadly ones. I'm not Catholic so maybe someone else can clarify that for you.

Its because theres seven of them which are deadly so that means there are seven deadly sins which are deadly.....hold on im confused too now ..why are they deadly????? lol

They sicken and weaken you spiritually, cause you to harm others that you dont realize, doesnt even the thought of any of them individually or that you see in others make you "sick" Cut you off from the Source of life (which is not you or me ) they all are about "ME ME ME" (but not just me...)
If you are physically mentally or emotionally unhappy do you not at least try changing something 'you'are doing to be well? And in the instance of being really sick and not treating a physical mental or emotional illness could your life be cut short.Work on eliminating those spirtual poisons,(and its exercise for sure)and maybe your spirit lives like you want to ...forever. Just a suggestion.

Think about each one, envy, greed, sloth, all of them lead to problems with your health. That's why they are called deadly.
