I think you might have misread that, it was Windows 95 that will no longer be supported.

I think Microsoft is like any other giant company. All they care about is money. Doesn't make any difference if it's MS or an oil company. The consumer controls supply and demand.
If everyone (no exceptions, EVERYONE) stopped buying gasoline for two days, we would see prices come down. If everyone (no exceptions, EVERYONE) switched to Linux, MS would lower it's prices, give better tech support, and treat us like valued customers instead of a bunch of ignorant fools who don't know anything.
But this is NOT going to happen any time soon. We can't even get people in the same household to agree on what TV shows to watch so how can we get an entire country (or world) to work together? We can't and we will continue to suffer at the hands of Microsoft, oil companies, etc.
But there's one small problem to my suggestion. Once we end the boycott and resume purchasing from MS, they will go right back to their old ways and to punish us, they will probably raise prices, cut back on their already non-existent customer support, and make life even worse for the consumer.
Why would they do that? Because they can and because we will let them get away with it. The average consumer would rather pay more for less than to stand up and fight.

Not really, all software vendors end support of older products. They can't support an old platform forever. I'm sure the lifecycle of XP will go on longer than 2 more years though. Maybe they are ending the support for WIndows 2000 then.

They only say that they will stop support. They say that because of the fact that all earlier versions cannot be supported by them in the future.Microsoft has alredy withdrew its support for win 95 and will be withdrawing its support for win 98 in a week.In case you dont have a problem with MS XP home continue using it.Or convert to red hat linux 7. Its totally free and 100 % secure.
But i agree with you. They cant ask us to buy vista. They could give it to us for a cheaper rate.

Microsoft can ban human beings for as long or short as they want. For minor infractions (getting suggested for being a jerk to diverse persons, etc) might desire to gets you banned for twenty-4 hours. Repeats gets you banned for longer. Bans for modded consoles isn't some thing new. Microsoft has been doing it for an prolonged time. yet they have been given so lots better aggressive approximately it those days. each time all alongside the bans for modded consoles have been eternal.

It's the same with win 98, ME etc etc, they just stop having support for it , you don't have to update if you don't want to.
I am sure you know people that are still using 98, ME etc and they are possibly happy right?
Look ms have a very unfair system with everything they make/sell, it all comes down to whether you want t use it and if you don't then go to a different o/s.

Just call your computer manufactures tech support when you have a problem with your computer You don't have to call Microsoft every time you have a problem. When ever I have a problem I e-mail hp or chat online with them, and that's all for free. Or and I can them.
