If Jesus "came back," that would mean He is God. God, by definition, is One without sin. War crimes are a sin. Therefore God could not be guilty of them.

Besides, God was already put on trial once about 2,000 years ago...for blasphemy and treason. He was found guilty and executed. An already executed prisoner can't be tried for crimes he may or may not have committed.

Since Jesus (God) has already been executed, your question is logical only if you believe that Jesus is resurrected...something that only God can do...so we're back to the first part of my answer.

Jesus is our comforter in the times of trouble. According to the BIBLE, there were always wars in the New Testament. That's because man thinks he has all the right answers and decided to do things his own way. In the New Testament , it talks about wars and rumers of war. Man will be the destruction of his own self. Jesus is innocent. These wars were going on long before He came to earth.

If He did come back and you put Him on trial for war crimes, guess what? He would forgive you, because He would know that you are ignorant of Him and who He is!
God is our Father in Heaven! We are all His children as He created us! He loves His children so He forgives them. He understands that we are weak and swayed by this sinful world that we live in, and He knows that we are all sinners in our weakness so, He understands those who doubt and cast stones.
Therefore, He understands you and loves you, anyway! He always will, that is why he died for our sins!

Jesus did not do anything.
The people who followed him, wanted to taint his good name and earn loads of money spoilt his fair name.

Its the followers who are to be tried for war crimes, not Jesus, he was a holy man, he will be a holy man when he comes back, we will need him, he will not need us.

I don't know if that would be fair because I don't remember ever reading Jesus calling anyone to arms. Perhaps we could put God on trial when he comes for Judgement Day. I bet he'll be surprised when we turn the tables on him.

I try to keep this prayer in mind "Jesus, please save me from your followers."

Don't blame the relative pacifist for his disciples and their outrageous/detrimental behavior.

I suspect that Jesus, like the Buddha, deliberately didn't write his own teachings down, because he wanted to allow for change, for differences in interpretation, for an open approach to religious philosophy that wouldn't neccessitate violence...but, someone always comes around later and tries to write it all down from memory/oral history...and mistakes creep in, as do mistranslations...and next thing, you've got civil war on your hands over a comma.

I am not a Christian and I sympathize with your frustration...but I blame Christians, not Christ.

Why put Him on trial? Christ started no wars only man in his misguided beliefs has. Every 'religious war' was a mistake of sinful mortal man.

No way. Do you really want to presume to have any power over someone who performed miracles, died for your sins, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and returned thousands of years later to judge you? That doesn't sound like a good plan to me. I say praise him and shout that he is Lord!
