It is up to you what you teach. A child upto certain age can learn
upto15 languages simultaneously. i feel a child is born very intelligent.Repetition of any study material will make him very intelligent. i suggest whatever you see speak to him.e.g. observing the colours around him, sounds of animals ,birds, ambulance, fire engine etc... more you talk more he will learn. Take him to the vegetable vendor, grocer, super market show him everythig there after a few days you will be amazed to see him showing U.Same rule applies to Maths also .

If they are taught by the parents or even a teacher at the age of two then their learning skills should be well off. As a three year old teacher for the past six years, your child is learning to tie a shoe lace and cutting skills. also along with counting to 10 or 15 and knowing the alaphbet by heart with no help. from us of cousre. They can also realize their colors and shapes. If they don't work with them on these things by using the Leap Frog Program books and cd's they are well to use and begin a new letter number shape and color each week. you will enjoy the program at home or in your classroom. check it out and have fun learing with your child. www.leapfrog.com

Developmentally speaking, a child of three does not have to know any academics. Things like counting, letters of the alphabet and the names of things like shapes and colors can be taught at any age. Rather, the average three year old child should be able to:
sort and match items by one attribute,
speak in 3 word phrases,
answer yes and no questions,
make choices and communicates wants and needs,
recognize basic body parts,
name pictures in books,
feed self with a spoon,
attend quietly to a story of up to 5 minutes,
repeat 3 to 4 random words.
Before they turn four, typical children will develop the ability to: follow directions with prepositions, like "Put the block in the box."
explain why we have things like beds, coats, or cars,
tell what you should do if you are hungry, thirsty, or dirty,
Many three year old can count and name the alphabet, shapes, and colors, but those things can be taught at any age. Young children are developing a sense of themselves and their place in a family or group of peers. Three year olds are learning to control their emotions and get their needs met.

A child of three is like a sponge. They take in absolutely everything around them. Their memory is beginning to improve so they can remember more detailed facts. When it comes to Academic knowledge, they can remember vague details e.g. a bee makes honey and can sting you.

Thus, it depends on how good their auditory and visual memory is.
