Depends if you did such a bad sin like killing then you won't go to Heaven. If you ask God for forgiveness on a sin that is minor before you die then you go to Heaven.

ALLAH(Tala) knows better where every one will go.But I am sure that every one will go to heaven or hell according to their deeds.

When people die, they lose conscious awareness, so it won't matter where they go.
