I have heard people describe a human, the physical body, his emotional self (or his soul) and his spirit (the supernatural part of mankind). The soul is the person that you are, your emotions, thoughts, feeling, all those comes under soul. I guess you cannot see your emotions, only enact it out, nor can you can see your thoughts only think, perhaps you can draw out or impress your thoughts, but definitely not seen it. Every person has a soul, a place where his reasoning abilities, thinking capacity and emotions are continuously active.

You are mind, body and soul.

Your body is the part of you that sees yonder tree on the hill. Your mind is the part that says "that is a tree on a hill", and your soul says "that is one beautiful scene".

A soul is what God gave Adam that makes him "Man" rather than just human. It is a piece of God Himself, it is Love with a capital L. It is the part of you that will survive this life and will return to God in whatever form you've managed to make of it.
